We have Virgin here, it's fine MOST of the time...well, apart from when the broadband kept dropping out, we told them, they arranged an engineer to come who got "cancelled" because apparently there wasn't a problem :? even though there was and they didn't bother to tell us!! They eventually realised it was a problem with the box down the road, and it's been fine ever since.

Anyway, glad you are back Gill!!

Yes - a real welcome back to Gill :D (even if it needs a bit more time to sort it all out finally - what a series of complications!).
All of that goes a long way to explain why we (enthusiastic!!?) Puzzlebrainers were wondering why we had not yet received information about renewing subscriptions for the coming year :o . I guess that access to your database was also affected, which must have been a nightmare.
We'll wait to hear from you as soon as you can get it sorted....

...Out for a nice walk both yesterday and today - IN THE SUNSHINE!! (What's that??) Yesterday we were in Snorbins, and saw a kingfisher by the river. Today we went with friends for a walk from a local village, through part of the Ashridge Estate then back to a weird and wonderful nursery-cum-tearoom-cum-shop selling all kinds of weird and wonderful ethnic clothing and furniture for soup and scones. We actually, believe it or not, sat OUTSIDE!!! :D

Don't you need a stone for Scones?

...And later that day...
went with some friends to a Stanley Dee gig. Blimey, they have some really full-on enthusiastic fans - I was completely mesmerised by some of the women dancing with abandon in the middle of the pub! Thing is, there are 11 band members, which is tricky to fit into a small pub. Mind you, the pub was packed and they got a very positive reaction.

... not really mostly bin as it has been a day of many parts.
This morning I was at work as normal then after a dash home for a quick sandwich we went up to town.
Because of the tube strikes we walked lots (in the rain) while there. We went to the Paul Klee exhibition at Tate Modern which was really interesting then we went up to just off the Charing Cross Road and met up with K & L for supper.
Then we went to see Twelve Angry Men at the theatre. It was a really good production with strong acting from all the cast. It was maybe our last chance to go out together as a family before L disappears to South America next month for an indefinite period of travelling, and a particularly relevant choice for us as K was in a school production of this many years ago, so they both knew the play. K enjoyed trying to remember who played which role in her production, she was the old man, played by Robert Vaughn in this show.
Then we toddled back home again. :D

Virtual Learning Environment. Like I say, thrilling. Oh, and just to top it all off nicely we had about 90 parents turn up with children, so we didn't have enough chairs out in the library. So I've been carting chairs up and down stairs too.

What is a Virtual Learning Environment? Is the learning virtual or the environment? 8-)

Look in your envelope. The letters went into them before the mags did and I checked every one as the mags went into them.

Unless my gremlin stole it.

Oops, mea culpa!! It had got "glued" inside the envelope, and I missed it!! (Probably the torrential rain when the postman delivered it) Watch out for that, folks!!

I'll transfer my subs tomorrow, Gill. Thank you.

Mine came as well, which did surprise me  Not had a chance to look at it as I've spent all weekend writing....
Personal Statement showing how you meet the competencies required for this role. Your Personal Statement should be no more than 500 words.
.... for 4 different job titles for HMRC. There were actually 7 job titles I could have gone for, but as each had a different selection of 3 (out of 10) 'competencies' it's been a pain in the sitting area just getting 4 done.

My teaching course has started and I really need to make the relaunch of Taylor Made Solutions official so that I can pull the 30 hours of teaching I need together and hopefully get paid for it.

So that is me - juggling the three balls of seeking employment, self employment, and student along with a few other balls of life. As my Martial Arts teacher once said as he took us through a selection of Tai Chi moves:
Cup both hands is if holding a ball.
Lift the ball to the left.
Rotate the ball as it comes down, then continue the rotation as you lift it to the right.
Rock back and bring the ball to your chest, then PUSH.

Yes - Basically Tai Chi is a load of balls
[You really don't want to know just how horrible that move is when turned into attack and defense]
