Very stylish :) [Sneaks a sausage roll of the far side]

I'm just plugging away doing more of the same - teaching course / looking for work / trying to type up a researched business plan for Taylor Made Solutions.

Had a bummer of a week last week as my data stick vanished somewhere over the weekend and I'd been working so hard on everything I didn't have back-ups  A case of "do as I say, don't do as I DO" Lost my 'reflective journals' for 8 weeks of college (can recreate them but they'll not be as good), the college assignment that should have been in last Thursday (I've been given an extra week but it's driving me MAD!!!), and my fairly-well filled in business plan (which I'm very annoyed at losing and been disheartened about recreating... it's on it's way now).

College Assignments (Level 4 <--- that's the important bit). I always said I couldn't go on with the CTLLS and DTLLS courses because they are more academic and I'm NOT. I'm writing this assignment as I've written every assignment in PTLLS - from personal experience and real life. So I've got all my words together with a couple of bits that say things like:

<<There must be a reference about Building Blocks style of teaching/learning>>
and
<<Find something that says relating things to Real Life is a good teaching technique>>

Where others will be doing research to write the assignments (and getting their references along the way), I'm having to reverse engineer from what I want to say back to a reference - and I'm betting 2 is not enough :( Not enjoying this!!!!!

No - the tutor is not a lot of help in this, as he has been brought up the academic way I genuinely don't think he can see what my problem is

Mind you, it will probably take me a week to get over this week. It's been MANICALLY busy. I got home, sat down and promptly fel asleep on the sofa. But I have a minor little event to attend next week! :D

Not actually three weeks, and unfortunately I go straight back to hell on Earth with a big pile of exams, access testing and yet more interviewing to do. I think what I'm saying is that I really EARN this time off, and I don't get paid for any of it... :|

Yes, but it's not supposed to fit you...

Starting out on our Easter holiday to the sunny Mediterranean - namely the island of Crete. All started well as we landed in Chania late last night and stayed overnight in a very nice hotel just on the edge of town. Then we woke this morning to find it was raining..... :( . Not so good! We encountered quite a few heavy showers as we headed south, but by the time we got up towards the mountain passes we were totally enveloped in really heavy cloud, with nothing to be seen in any direction. Reminded us more of Scotland in the mist than glorious Greece.... It certainly added a certain something to the hairpin bends !
We finally arrived at the south coast in a heavy storm with thunder rolling around (Zeus obviously flexing his muscles?) and had to sit in the car outside the hotel for five minutes before we could even get out!

And then...... by 3pm we were sitting out on our balcony in glorious sunshine looking at a royal blue sea and getting out our sunglasses 8-) :D
So - looking more hopeful for the rest of the next two weeks.......

Lucky lady! Crete is a wonderful island to visit (just as long as you avoid the touristy bits.) Have fun.

Yes, we are keeping well away from the North East coastal tourist belt and keeping to the "real" Crete over in the West, visiting mountain villages and spectacular views. One of the reasons for coming at this time of year is for the fantastic wild flowers which are everywhere. Fields of poppies and yellow ranunculus and rare orchids hidden away amongst them. A lot of species are unique to Crete, especially down the hidden gorges. The other reason for coming now is the celebration of the Greek Orthodox Easter which is the highlight of the year - we've just joined in the Good Friday procession which goes all round the village carrying a flower-bedecked tableau representing the tomb of Christ and ending up at the church. Who cares if we can't understand a word of the liturgy - you know what it is all about and the atmosphere is amazing!

Hey, that's the way to go. When we were in Italy last year, we arrived at the mountain village to find that there was a medieval pageant going on. Joining in was the only way to go!

Crete is so beautiful. It's such a big island that there are lots of different types of scenery and historical things to see and do, plus some beautiful unspoilt coastline, where you can snorkel to your heart's content, and see wonderful, unspoilt sea life. I'm jealous!
