I meant to say, if you liked that, Scurra, you should definitely go to Harry Potter World. Right at the end there is a bit where they display the plans for the model, and a lot of the designs used on the sets. Although, actually, for me, probably the best bit was the model of Hogwarts, which is brilliant!

....wondering what will go wrong next. This morning I got up to find water dripping through our kitchen ceiling. :(

PS - I loved the model of Hogwarts too - and also seeing the Weasley's kitchen. :D

OH NO! Not in your newly done kitchen! Have you got it fixed?

I've just been to see the film Brooklyn, I'd recommend it - a gentle story and easy to watch, and Saoirse Ronan was very convincing in the role.

Hopefully the leak is fixed but the ceiling isn't. And this evening when I put the extractor fan on over my lovely new hob, water poured out of it! It was above that where the water was coming through this morning, but I think it was just some water that had collected when they pulled down a section of the ceiling to get at the leak.

Water is, of course not so good when combined with electrics - so could have been worse....! Even so, it is hard luck.

Though of course a minor detail when compared with what friends in Cumbria have been going through :o

.. meant to post this at the weekend. Have mostly been playing with lego :-)
Don't tell Scurra, but we got Thomas the Doctor Who lego set.
He deserved a prize as he got the Head Teacher's award for most improved in maths last term (and that's after he got the Headteacher's award for his maths last december as well)

So, while getting the dr who set, I also got storage for all the lego we've got and spent a happy weekend sorting all the loose blocks we had.

I love lego :-)

Oh, me too. This wasn't actual Lego, it was that Nano Lego, but it was one of my Christmas presents. ;)

well, all the lego me & scurra had as kids is safely in a cupboard in Wulfruna's living room where Grandad is really grateful to have a grandson to use as an excuse... (must admit Thomas is my excuse as well!)

Who needs an excuse?  I have no children here and regularly find myself doing things like making models and doing colouring in (don't I Scurra? )

I must admit there are times when I feel tempted to get the Lego or K-nex out of the loft.

I think I threw the knex out, that was never a hit in our house, because the pieces were so hard to take apart.

Didn't you have a little black undoing tool?

No. It really hurt your hands to undo them, so they never really played with it much

Travelling to Austria ready for start of MIT Puzzle Hunt tomorrow. Arrived at Wien this evening, overnighting in hotel after nightmare drive from airport when satnav shut off because battery wasn't charging (using hotel wifi to post this) and driving on to EuroMIT Austrian HQ tomorrow.
