At least you're not stuck on Shetland with no power!!
Happy Christmas....

I nearly didn't get home on Friday, with snow on the A87 along Loch Cluanie. An artic semi-jackknifed on a (pretty mild) gradient just ahead, with a pickup truck behind it slithering sideways.
After eventually being able to continue, I carried on the A887 from Bun Loyne to Invermoriston and down the A82 along Loch Ness rather than tackle the climbs up to Glen Garry.
But although it was tricky and slow, there were no real problems - only the last few hundred yards up the hill we live on was very difficult!
And I feel for the Shetlanders without power. I hope they can make a happy Christmas time.

Just been wrapping some presents and I usually like to play some music to keep me company. This evening I chose my Tom Lehrer CD
There was at least one Christmassy song :D

I've never heard that one! Some others by him, but not that!
The last line reminds me of a time when we took the brownies to the park, and it started raining. Two little twins piped up with "don't worry, it's just a bit of unicorn wee!"

Rather remarkably, he's put all of his songs/lyrics into the public domain (so they are completely copyright free.)
There's now a website with pretty much everything on it including recordings.

All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Oh I love his stuff. Favourites are " I hold your hand in mine" and Poisoning pigeons in the park" but there are great bits on most of his songs.

This was actually the other week, but... my Grandaughter wanted to make an Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea. Both girls made all sorts of things to fit with the theme, and made cakes and Cheshire cat pizzas for lunch too. . Here are a few pics. Sorry, not allowed to show any with the children in, but they all had great fun.

Today I was mostly travelling, from the Isle of Lewis. On the early ferry, one of very few on any routes that were actually sailing. Then driving from Uig on Skye back home. Then going to the office and working to try and fix problems out on the farms.

Wow. Still, at least it showed that the fire drills were worth it. You did have fire drills, didn't you? :D

Stuck in traffic on M3! We had been to Winchester and were on our way home, hoping to stop off en route to try to buy a Christmas tree. After sitting stationary for the best part of an hour we eventually started crawling until we all had to get off at the next exit. Which would have been where we wanted to go but then for some reason we weren't allowed to turn right and ended up back on the motorway so we just came home. The tree buying will have to wait.
