The castle looks very nice. Are you treating us? :D Shame I don't have a spare £350 hanging around.

Well, I was told it was going to be on that weekend (the one that you, me and - as far as I recall- MBH can't make). Is there any change in this at all, management team? Or is it definite? :D

No , its not definite but we do want to make arrangements asap. We thought the bank holiday weekend would have been better as it gives an extra day. Obviously not!

What about the weekend before (april) or the weekend after? And if we included the Friday/ and or the Monday what would be the preference? I'm going to talk to Scurra once I have a few replies and I'll post more details then. We are aiming to keep costs to a minimum so don't think there will be huge hotel or food bills. Perhaps those from the south could car share and those on trains should have plenty of time to get the best deals. The location is likely to be Yorkshire but not Leeds. We have a plan but its open to changes.

I think the original thought was for the weekend of May 5th which is a bank holiday weekend. But since at least a couple of people have said they can't do that we are now looking at either the weekend before (28th April) or the one after (May 12th) in case one of them proves a more popular choice.

So how would they suit you?

I've got a problem with both weekends in May as we are due to go on holiday on the 8th for a couple of weeks. Late April might be possible, but I have to admit that the long journey across country to Yorkshire might really not be feasible from down here.... Sorry!

I'm not totally convinced I would want to be going away two weekends running, especially as it's such a long way away, so I am inclined to say to not take me into account, sorry. :)

What about the other end of May then? The other bank holiday weekend?

Do you mean the one which has a bank holiday on 4th June?

Well that might be a possible, but the week after that is half term so it might be more expensive to stay places / travel.

Ah. I didn't know they'd moved it this year because of the Jubilee (I don't recall reading about that.) I was expecting it on the 28th May.

Ah, so probably loads of people will be away that weekend to make the most of the 4 days coinciding with half term.

Yeah, that rather kills that one as a possibility.

This may sound like a stupid question but what's wrong with a non bank holiday weekend? Much quieter surely for anyone driving and possibly cheaper for advance train bookings too.

Well it was partly to try and avoid the need for people to feel that they had to rush in and rush out again, which is what can happen with a regular "weekend", especially if the alternative is that people have to take time off work. That's all.

I'be got to admit that a regular weekend where I can get time off work is better for me. My driving skills are usually needed when busses are playing silly beggers.

A regular weekend sounds good to me too. If I came I would probably be a solo giraffe as that sounds horribly like the middle of exam season, so F and K will both be tied up. (Literally if need be  )
