I'll give my best wishes now as well since I'm working behind the bar at the Cricket Club tonight. I've never done a New Year's Eve there, so don't really know what to expect. [The band that is on is a good one I've seen before - so some behind the bar dancing is likely ]

Hope everyone has the evening they want (quiet, loud, entertaining, fun, sleepy) and fingers crossed for a better 2012 for all of us.

Though I did have an excuse as I lost my (wired) network connection for some reason yesterday (the other computers in the house were ok!) and have had to reconnect via the wireless system.
So - back again

That'll be because the "Law of the IT man" has applied itself. As soon as they aren't there, things go wrong. As soon as they are there, things work perfectly...

Yes - that's it exactly Absolutely classic that it waited until he'd gone before deciding to go to pot...... We still don't know exactly what the problem is and why the wire connection suddenly stopped. The wireless is fine, just a bit slower and occasionally erratic.

My laptop has a mind of its own, sometimes all I get is a black screen, sometimes it needs to be shaken upside down and thumped, sometimes it is really slow, never any logic to it, it seems to cure itself of problems and invent a new one. Today my mouse didn't work for the first 5 minutes I was turned on each time.
