2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
This looks fun.

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
Seems nobody wants to comment on this.
I must say it looks interesting and I do like the idea of a quiz trail round London but I am wondering if my days of running around in a race are behind me.
I have done other quiz trails though which have been fun - both driving ones in certain parts of the country, and a walking one in Southwark once - but they were very much at our own pace with no running involved.
Anyone else any thoughts?

I don't think I'd do any RUNNING either. Don't think I CAN run any more (too decrepit!) I just thought the idea of the clues looked like fun.

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
Well that would be OK. The clip I saw showed people running and there seemed to be mentions of getting time faults if you needed hints etc which I took to imply it was very competitive.
And if you think you're decrepit I hate to think what you would say about me!
I was rather worried I would hold people up if I wasn't quick enough.

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
I would be happy to join in subject to dates being OK
Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
Happy to join, subject to dates and no running ..
Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
I think the competitive element (involving racing for time....) may be optional, depending if you wanted to enter several teams as a group booking to compete against each other. Otherwise I suppose that theoretically you are set up against any other teams that are entered that day and it is up to you if you want to take that seriously or not.
But it certainly sounds as if it would suit Puzzlebrains very well and be worth the fee to have someone else do all the work of devising the trail!!
I would probably be able to join in if it was in London - but absolutely no running.....

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
I tried to post on this a couple of weeks back, but looks like it didnt post.
I have done two of these, one as a family day out and once in the halloween competition.
Quite good fun, clues arent too far reaching but still enough of a challenge to make it fun.
It does say on some of them that its suitable for over 18s only, but I did it with my 8year old son and it was fine.
cheers

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
Looks interesting, but we are on holiday abroad on that date.
Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
If I can, it would be something I'd like to come to.
Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
I would have liked to come but am on holiday - so count me in next time

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
Not sure, looks interesting, but I don't really like the idea of signing .up to go somewhere when they aren't saying where it is actually taking place. "Essex" could cover a multitude of sins

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
I think I agree with you. Essex is about half way round the M25 for me so not the easiest place to get to. And not knowing exactly where until after signing up makes me a bit wary. I couldn't see a start time either which seems a bit odd. (well it's either odd that they don't mention it, or it's odd that I didn't spot it!
)

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
Well that's kind of the point - they don't want to tell people where it is, probably because they don't want too much scouting in advance.
But these folk have a very solid track record; I wouldn't have suggested it otherwise...

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
It certainly sounds interesting!
I can understand why they are cagey about the venue - and no doubt further details will be available eventually. My problem is that it is clearly only accessible by car, and so we would have to find a way of organising transport for those of us who don't drive (like me and Scurra!) and working out where to rendezvous.

Re: 2014 meet (dare I mention it?)
I think my problem is that I wouldn't be prepared to get a train into London and back out again, and some parts of Essex are a long drive for me, and quite possibly in LondonISH areas that I don't like driving in. So unless they are going to be clear about where it is then I'm definitely out. But yes, I can see why they are cagey, although if someone is that desperate to spoil a puzzle by sending out an advance party of spies, then they are pretty sad!!
