Don't know, but she could probably enter Mastermind on Rupert stories!

ok, what was the flying boat made out of? The same stuff that Rupert and Margot found small sheets of floating around weighed down with hooks and heavy stuff balanced on.

And what was the magic bladderwrack called?

(Astonishing that I can call this to mind after mmmerrrummeerrrummph years, even if not much of the story details.)

I haven't let her look at my original Mary Tourtel books yet! :D

Although I was letting her look at one of my slightly dodgy 1960s books, which turned out to be worth £300...

Oh, trust me, I've read Rupert until I'm sick of Rupert. But the Original yellow books are so fragile that I don' t think they would withstand being hastily turned by eager three year old fingers.

And she's now obsessed with The Worst Witch so maybe Rupert can be put back on the shelves for a while! I've never known a child who loves being read to more. I'm having to do Whatsapp readings to keep her amused during lockdown - last one was Bottersnikes and Gumbles! Even the baby listens! :D

It's great being a Granny! :D

Hope you all have a lovely Easter! What are you all doing? Well, apart from going to church / eating chocolate? (delete as applicable)

I've got the herbs coming here to sit and eat roast dinner in the freezing cold garden, followed by an Easter egg hunt in the garden, then decorating some eggs, driving to Ashridge here Image and throwing them down a hill! Then an even more freezing picnic and home. :D

Been up here with P-Dawg, then went to the shop and got a leg of lamb. Fought with the lawn mower to get it started for the first time after the winter break. Laid the charcoal in the pizza oven ready. Just about to light it now and get it fired up ready for cooking pizzas for tea tonight, lamb is in the tray ready to cook overnight in the residual heat of the pizza oven.

Loving the idea of the lamb. What time should I arrive? I've just made five Easter baskets (yes, adults get them too!)

Arrive whenever you like, we won't shop you to the Lockdown Police :)

But seriously anytime it's safe and permitted.

If you set off about 3am you'll beat the traffic down there and be here in time for lamb destruction (I mean carving).

But we don't do bank holidays up here so I will have to work Monday. Probably in the factory, but Tuesday I am going to Loch Duich and Ardintoul.

That was from the spot down the side of the house where the pizza oven is, looking towards the front.

Aw, how lovely to finally catch up with them Chazzie! And the weather has been kind to you too. :D

We have had a wonderful day. Had the family out in the garden, and then lots of rolling eggs (and us!) down hills in the sunshine. Fab!

We are practically dead, moving all our house stuff (been stored on top floor of escspe room building) and building materials between the three floors.
Too tired to do more than pick a bit off the lamb for sandwich, there's still practically the whole leg left for visitors breaking lockdown.
Yesterday and the day before were hot and sunny. Today was grey, and bitterly cold. Wind has got up and there are gale warnings, and weather warnings for snow and ice tonight/tomorrow.
But it's still brill up here.

I think we are getting the cold beastliness tomorrow. Sounds like you've had a tough day.
