Has anyone managed to start this? I am assuming that it is substitution ciphers, but I can't get started on it at all.

I started by noting all the cases of double letters and putting them in a list. There are a limited number that these can be and only two can be vowels. That gave a useful starting point.

Thanks, I just came back to say that I've realised that at least some of them are names...

I've had two correct answers to this so far. (And one incorrect answer too!!)

I’ve managed to decodethem all, and noted the groups. But as per usual, no idea what to do now! :?

Well, I got an answer but apparently bypassed the correct method... :?

There's no such thing as the "correct" method. If you got the intended answer, then you are right. (Well, OK, maybe just randomly guessing isn't really a "correct" method even if it might produce the intended answer by accident!)
In this case, it's quite possible to get the answer without entirely understanding why. But it's definitely not an arbitrary reason...

At the moment I will feel it an achievement if I manage to download it and print it out!

Aha - had the right answer - but now know the right (intended?) method of getting the answer :D

Well done Chazzie. I must admit that I wouldn't have worked that method out myself. :)

Well done Chazzie! I have the answer but still have no idea how I should have got it.

I also enjoyed finding the answer - having initially made a wrong assumption, like others, I guess! We ought to be used to red herrings by now I suppose
Having been sent back to explore the correct method, I agree that it took a bit of extra effort - but was satisfying to resolve :D

I'm confused now as I didn't find a red herring, just the right answer but not by the right method - wondering what I've missed. :?

No, I didn't find a red herring either. Makes a change...
