Facebook gone down in the UK

#1 Post by Wulfruna » Fri Jul 26, 2019 12:17 am

Are other people having issues with Facebook? We have been unable to access it for about three days now, and there seems to be quite a widespread problem in certain areas of the UK. But it is very hard to get any information. FB themselves have issued a rather odd message about there being a problem with UK English and to try the US language version, but that doesn't seem to solve anything - and I can't change the settings if I can't get online to do so! We can't seem to access it on either PC or Tablet, although P is getting on his mobile for some reason. There is a difficulty in contacting them about it directly if you can't get on-line to them via the web.

I don't actually use FB all that much myself as I am not interested in socialising in that way - but crucially it is the platform for Diggy's Adventure - so my fellow diggers will find that I am suddenly missing from it. Very frustrating!!!

I've been getting a message about them being unable to give me the English version every time I log in, but it just asks me if I want to use US English, I say yes and it logs in fine.

Could you not play Diggy on the Pixel Federation site?

That is interesting confirmation that it is the UK English that is the problem - but they have not offered me the option!
I can indeed access the site via the Pixel Federatin site, but I am stuck there back on level 31 and can't seem to update that. When I check out the language it just offers "English" without distinguishing between the two options. ggrrrrr! I shall persevere - and maybe send a message to Diggy support to see if they can sort it out.

Again, very strange. I've just tried going onto Pixel site and mine is completely updated! Yes, try contacting support and get them to update your progress on Pixel.

Glad to say the problem has been resolved.
It was all to do with a control block going haywire and interfering where it wasn't supposed to... We managed to get to the settings and change them (in our server, not FB)
Pixel have also now solved the separate issue of taking me to an old outdated site (level 31). I am now restored to the correct level as on Facebook.
All is well again :D
