I've always been led to believe that anywhere north of Luton people are still hunter-gatherers. But I could be wrong about that...
(I actually live north of Watford myself, but not much I am therefore in the transition zone...)

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
All of the above leads me to think that a serious effort to have another Puzzlebrains Meet sometime during the year might be a good idea....... It was clearly good for some of you/us to be able to meet even if others couldn't make it. It must have been fun to put a few faces to names (even pseudo ones!) A bit of long-distance planning might be worth-while - and I'm sure contributions would be forthcoming....

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
Yes, definitely. Although I'm afraid I don't think I'd have the space or enough control over my stress levels to offer to do it here, sadly. I would be happy to offer lifts to people (as long as it doesn't involve driving in London) and don't mind helping out with anything I can in the organisation line. I'm also happy to help with any catering.

Are you offering Wulfruna? Any excuse to see Thomas. We haven't been that far south so if you can it would be good, and lots of us previous hosts can give you lots of tips and advice.
As I've said before- I'm happy to hold another one if no-one else is keen -but it is good to go to different parts of the country.

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
I guess that I'm just a bit too far off the map for most people (apart from Strep!!) so it wouldn't make practical sense..... If someone more central was happy to "host" in principal, I'm sure that catering etc could be shared, though I'm not sure how overnight hospitality is managed? It was just a thought - I suppose that if anything were to be planned, it wouldn't actually happen until the summer anyway.....

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
Usually mine host caters for the initial meet up and whatever else they fancy doing on top or not as the case may be. We all contribute to the cost and supply our own alcohol. We are all usually happy to eat out too- so we dont really need a house host. A pub or anything would do just so long as someone volunteers to co-ordinate. Reasonably priced hotels are usually the order of the day- with a volunteer to have the wild party in their room.

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
I've been thinking of my best moment for a few days now, and I think it has to be getting my grade 8 clarinet exam results, and then mum and my teacher both saying how proud they were of the work that I had put in to get that result.

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
That was truly impressive, I must say. And there's nothing quite like having someone tell you they're proud of you is there?
Not that anyone ever tells me that. It's the sort of thing people rarely do to adults. And they should. I must say, one notable exception to this rule is Wulfruna. I got all choked up when I read her comment about how proud she is of Scurra. I thought that was lovely. Scurra - you're a lucky lad.

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
Kingsley, I'm proud of you. That was a wonderful reply, and so well thought out!
One thing I've learned in my 50+ a couple more years is that you get out of life what you put into it.
You will go far.
I think I've said that to you before somewhere, somehow.

Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
Sounds like a great best moment Kingsley and they had every right to be proud of you.
Re: What was your best moment of 2009?
I must admit I nearly put that as my favourite moment, but it was more that the more she put into it, the more she enjoyed it, that made it a good one for me.
