What was your best moment of 2009?

#1 Post by Redfraggle » Wed Dec 30, 2009 6:41 pm

Hi all, what was your best moment of 2009? Heard this discussion on the radio today and it made for interesting listening. Mine has got to be the night of February 14th. Gill will testify to this, because I was on the phone with her at time that I found out almost simultaneously that my grand-daughter was born safely and the emergency services had successfully started my nephew breathing again. The relief was tremendous! So that has got be my best moment. :D

Mine was probably on my husband's 50th birthday, when we found out that my daughter had got her degree. This was also the day when we gave her a surprise car - her face was absolutely PRICELESS. :D

I think most people will be able to guess mine - 10.31 on 2nd May when a little boy was held up for me to see. Can't beat it.

It was quite a good year, but I couldn't pin down a single moment. More a lack of dreadful moments, combined with some mini highlights.

I don't think I have a best moment as the last 8 months of the year were really stressful owing to my Dad being ill and me having to rush down south several times. My mother doesn't exactly make my life easy either as she is one of these people who's glass is always half empty never half full. So the fact that Dad is still with us, though totally dependant on the staff of a nursing home for his care, when back in June we thought he wouldn't make it must be good. :)

my best friend getting engaged on Christmas Eve. Three year into battling her MS she may have found someone (finally) who will cope with it with her (not that I am passing the buck, she means everything to me, but her "bucket list" includes going to Glastonbury this year and I can't face the mud, so thank God for Phil as he can take her :D )

My best moment was the fireworks marking the end and seeing the back of 2009.

I'll second that hope - as 2009 hasn't been great for me.

..... mind - meeting a load of my online pals, including my E-Sister counts as a VERY high point in the year ;)

Fingers crossed for 2010 ----- and we're offffffff :D

Getting out of there alive was a pretty high point for me

Ah, I must say it was brilliant meeting everyone. It's not every day you get to hug your long lost brother for the first time, and meet lots of lovely people you've been laughing with for the past couple of years!! :D

...And yes, you did do well to get out of there alive, Scurra. Naughty rag doll and I were starting to hatch an evil scheme...

NEXT time - (and I'm counting on there being a next time) I think we need even more Puzzlebrainers to come along. Anyone got any thoughts? Gill did suggest a get together up her way a while back- then that'd be a bit fairer for those of you who are north of Watford??

clvrlad your idea of where Watford is is either a hundred miles out, or your idea of where the giraffe is. Watford is the deep south to me.
