I fancied a couple of days solitude and peace and quiet. Read a book, watch a couple of DVD's etc.
OH dropped me off at our seaside caravan on Friday (we share the car, he's working so I have no wheels) and I holed myself up for the weekend. I could be here a while. It started snowing on Saturday morning and hasn't stopped since and it looks as if there is plenty more to come . I got my peace and quiet. In 2 days I have seen one other person in the distance. Good job I have plenty of supplies.

It's quite nice in a funny kind of way, sitting in front of the fire, looking out at unspoiled white world. Just got to pluck up the courage to get in the shower. The bathroom is a wee bit chilly.

I'm clean
Solved the bathroom problem. Found the extension lead and dragged one of the bedroom oil filled radiators in there until it warmed up.
Eating toasted crumpets and drinking hot chocolate now.

That sounds lovely! I'm not sure where you are, but I guess it's up north somewhere?
Down here in sunny Rutland (yes the sun has just come out) there was nothing more than a bit of dandruff on the lawn this morning!

I'm in Withernsea, East Yorkshire coast. Down from Bridlington and across from Hull.
I've had such a lovely peaceful time I'm going to try and persuade OH to spend xmas here. I've now opened the mulled wine and having casserole with roasties for my late dinner.

Sounds wonderful. All we have had is rain

I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

OOh that sounds fab. I'm stuck here in the cold drizzle looking at all the ironing I've left for the past 2 weeks!

I'll get my coat and come up and join you with my sledge, Gill!
I did have a good day yesterday, though, we went to Surrey to see my daughter who was in a university choir performance of The Merry Widow, which was really enjoyable. We also managed to convince grumpy OH into Guildford beforehand Christmas shopping in the freezing cold. They had all the Christmas lights on and people selling roasted Chestnuts, which made it all seem a bit more atmospheric. We then went to eat at "Giraffe". I didn't realise you had your own chain of restaurants, Zoe!!

Those of us in the Spotlight region know about it - there's one in Plymouth. A few months back someone tried to explode a bomb there. Though I wasn't aware of it being a chain.
It doesn't snow here in Budmouth Regis. We occasionally have a hard frost. But all that fell here was some rain in the morning.

Not just in the Spotlight region either - we've a Giraffe in the centre of Manchester, in the middle of the banking district.

It's not often you hear a giraffe saying that. They usually find it difficult to fit into the planes.

It doesn't snow here either unless you hit Dartmoor and we don't have a Girraffe restaurant, but we have an Elephant will that do (not that any of us locals can afford to eat there).

Nothing that exotic around here. The type of animal themed restaurant you'd be likely to find around here would be "The Scabby Horse".

That reminds me of some friends who moved into the area and thought there was a very interestingly named Indian restaurant. They couldn't wait to try "The Ancient Rat"

and were quite disappointed when they realised it was "The Ancient Raj" instead.

Gill, sounds a good place for a meet! It would spoil your peace of course but I can imagine Brian and Ann parked there, and a sea of tents.
Is it on a cliff?
