This reminds me of my sister in law (who has just retired from UCL where she worked in the lab) has a story of needing some fine netting to strain afterbirth for an experiment. They had nothing in the store room, so she went out to a posh curtain shop and asked what types of net curtain they had in stock. The lady asked her what the purpose was (meaning which window, how frilly etc.) and C told her "Oh I don't need frills. It's just for straining afterbirth."

Apparently the lady went slightly green... :lol:
