Very well, evilkeen is n00b 10: Willkomen, bienvenue and welcome.
Here's round 10:
Treasure Hunt
Below is the grid for this game. n00b 10 evilkeen is to bury nine treasure chests in nine different squares in the grid, and the other n00bz must try to find them by digging them up.

Send me your nine grid references.

Scoring:
n00bz 1 to 9:
Each treasure chest is worth a maximum of 9 points. Digging up a chest earns points, but if more than one n00b digs up a chest the points have to be shared:
1 n00b - 9 points; 2 n00bz - 4 points each; 3 n00bz - 3 points each; 4 n00bz - 2 points each; 5 or more n00bz - 1 point each.
You lose 9 points if you fail to find any of the chests.
n00b 10 evilkeen:
1 point for every n00b who digs up each of the chests.
9 points for every chest which remains undiscovered.

May I ask a point of technicality? - Do Battleship rules apply in that squares cannot be touching, or is there a completely free choice?

Giraffe... exactly how much of a computer wiz is she? And is it likely that she backtracked the PuzzleBrains login and hacked into Cenwulf's computer to see what we had all written???
I wouldn't know how to hack into anything. I'm not a computer wiz at all. I just hadn't been on puzzlebrains for a few days and it turned out I picked the wrong few days to have off.

Why, what did you put? I considered double bluffing on some of them, but I thought that other people might do the same. I seem to have got on OK by picking the most exotic ones I could find (with the exception of the Shakespeare one where I picked Trinculo because we're reading the Tempest at school and I had actually heard of him.)

Completely free choice. The chests can be anywhere in the grid, even in adjacent squares.

Here are the results of the Treasure hunt:

evilkeen did quite well in that four of the chests - A9, E3, E8 and F5 - were not found, scoring 36 points.
The remaining five chests were found by the following:
B5 - Scurra, 9 points
C2 - MBH, 9 points
G7 - fernando, kathlyn and kingsley, 3 points each
H4 - Bunnylump and Laura, 4 points each
I2 - LAT and fernando, 4 points each
This meant evilkeen scored a further 9 points.
Only Looby failed to find any of the treasure chests.

Score for Round 10:
Numbers 1 to 9 refer to n00b numbers in the grid
1 Bunnylump 4 points
2 LAT 4 points
3 fernando 7 points
4 kathlyn 3 points
5 Looby -9 points
6 kingsley 3 points
7 Scurra 9 points
8 Laura 4 points
9 MBH 9 points
10 evilkeen 45 points

Current score:
Bunnylump 63
LAT 58
fernando 51
evilkeen 45
kingsley 40
Scurra 39
kathlyn 38
MBH 25
Looby 18
Laura 18

Who wants to play?

Mnay apologies - this game has lasted longer than I thought. I go on holiday early Thursday morning and probably won't have access to a computer so I will have to withdraw.

(I'm not really sulking 'cos I scored -9 and throwing my toys out of the pram!)

How long will you be away? The rounds have slowed as more n00bz have joined, and are now taking about a week to complete. It might be possible that you return and it's only another round further on.

Very well. You can 'sit out' round 11.
You willl not score any points, but you won't lose any points either.

I'll volunteer for n00b 11 if no-one else has alreadydone so.

I'm not quite sure where I'm at right now. My computer seems to have gone haywire. It's either not connecting or connecting to yesterday.
