Well I suppose I could get over my deckchair despair and deal with

"Lauren's" kestrel annoyance (9,6)

(May arguably be 9,5 depending on viewpoint, but the same rhyme either way)

While I suspect that working out which fictional Lauren is referenced would make the kestrel reference readily apparent, I would also imagine the most direct resolution would be from the kestrel side first.

What's another name for a kestrel?

Well, a kestrel is a windhover, or (yes, really!) a windf**ker. So best guess is windhover bother but no idea who Lauren is! 🤣

Bother would be a bit refined to rhyme with windhover though?

I'm sure you'll remember which "Lauren" it is when you remember how many of your school's pupils told you how they ain't...

(Fortunately she's not been on view recently that I know)

I can think of Ivor Novello or Ivor the Engine, so I 'm drawn towards Idris and occasional others (sometimes keeping warm in Ivor's furnace).

 They did indeed! Your go.

I happened to see an episode of Ivor the Engine on BBC 4 the other day. The quality of the pictures is pretty rubbish by today's standards, but it still had all the charm. Certainly a big step up from the rubbish my grandchildren watch (Hey Duggee and Odd Squad, just don't get me started!)

I am genuinely startled it took this long for that rhyme to appear.
