Dear Master, may I enquire whether the rule that you are reffering to is that the words must consist entirely of letters that are in the russian alphabet?

(Kingsley learns Russian at school so I may as well have a guess)

Student fernando, I'm sorry to say that the buddha's rule is not that words must contain letters from the Russian alphabet. He says that it would be too unfair, as I am probably the only one on this forum familiar with the Russian alphabet (unless I am mistaken). Having said that, he likes the Russian language much better than French.

Oh well

May I ask the master whether he prefers the name SAM to DAVE

Student fernando, that is an interesting question. The buddha prefers DAVE to SAM, but you might also be interested to know that he thinks the same if their names were not in capitals (Dave and Sam).

Might I respectfully enquire whether the Buddha would prefer to make his purchases in a single store, rather than traipse all the way round the mall?

Student SparkOut, the buddha does indeed do his shopping at a store not a mall.

Gracious mistress, may I also enquire whether the Buddha should think better of DVP than the KGB?

Having been down the greenhouse, I offer the Buddha a tasty cabbage, and shun the malodorous onion.

Student SparkOut: the buddha does not like DVP or the KGB, but he does like to eat at KFC more than he likes to drive his JCB.
Student Cenwulf: the buddha does not like cabbage or onions but he likes broccoli.

I am trying to think of a hint at the moment, but there should be one soon. (Don't tell the buddha, he does not approve of hints.)

OK, here is a hint:

Only one of the letters in the word follows a rule.

I hope that helps, but I'm not sure it will. :(

O Master, your humble students are clearly in a state of bewilderment (nothing new there, then.)

May I ask the Buddha for a preference between me, myself and I...?

Student Scurra, the buddha likes myself, but not me and I.

Student clvrlad, the buddha does indeed like going to town but not for carrots. Also, you might like to take note that he does not like buying hats there either, even though he has no problem with clothes in general.

Student clvrlad, you appear to be on a roll! The buddha much prefers love to hate.
