Aah, the penny has just dropped re the roofing stone one. I don 't think I'd ever have got that, I don't think cryptically enough on these!

I might have the next one but happy to wait to give others a chance to think.

Immediately I went to Grand (from National) and thought you might be harking back to Strand, but I couldn't think of a way to work that in.
So I stopped thinking grand, and decided to go for horse. Of course.
