Well, I have now caught up with Chazzie, but again, don't know how to go any further.

Don't think this puzzle is for me, but thanks for posting it anyway.

The last one! But it might as well apply to the one before as well because I haven't got a clue about that one either.

I think they come into the "stare blankly for a while, sigh, and go and find something else to do" category. Only at least with the previous one I could try to solve some of the clues, even if I didn't know what to do after that. This one, well. What can I say?

I think that the problem stems from the fact that I like the IDEA of these puzzle hunts, and in my head I am able to solve reasonably tricky puzzles. Then I look at things like this and realise that I can't!

See, if you'd put e.g. a "sarcastic" tag on that post, I'd have stopped.

The problem with being presented with a blank crossword grid or a list of clues is that it looks completely impossible at first glance because you have no idea where to start. In the case of the last one I posted, you only need to solve a couple of them to see what's going on, and then it becomes less intimidating. But I agree that getting those first answers isn't always easy, which makes getting going feel like hard work.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I liked the first one and genuinely wanted to see if there were any more which I might be able to do. I wasn't being funny with YOU, that's why I said earlier "thanks for posting" them. I did try to look at the clues for the last one and didn't even understand what I was googling when I read it!

Oh, I definitely like AR CANA, I was wondering about T celltoo, but the only things I can find that spawn at midnight are CORAL and EELs. But then that would be TC EEL which doesn't quite work...unless I'm missing something? Unless it means coral CELLS?

EDIT Ignore the last bit, I was getting confused!!

The ones which are really irritating me are
It can turn a frown upside-down - for which I keep thinking of SMILE or something similar, but then can't see what the turning part is going to add to make a new word.

Also, 14 pounds?? Keep thinking STONE but why ONE - well, apart from the 1 in 14...?

Aren't you mixing two clues there. I was thinking thatT was the right angle part of that answer.
