Ali Lloyd is a software developer who has created a mini Puzzle Hunt if anyone wants to have a go teaming up

https://alilloyd.livecodehosting.com/pu ... /home.html

Ali happens to be a member of the only Connect 2021 season champions.

Any takers?

Sorry for hijacking attention away from the Last Hurrah (which I am seriously hoping I can devote some attention to over Christmas).

I'm just not sure I have time at the moment - everything is manic here! When is it?

It's not a "competitive" hunt, more along the lines of a PB issue. It's just that it's "hunt style" with a meta.
Here's Ali's announcement
Some time ago I wrote a puzzle hunt for no particular reason other than to amuse myself - it has a couple of bits that are explicitly LiveCode related but mostly it should be solvable without LiveCode knowledge. Since I've titled it LiveCode Puzzle Hunt 2024 I thought I'd better 'release' it now.

For those that don't know what a puzzle hunt is, it's a bunch of puzzles which lead to answers that are a word or phrase, and (in this case) there is a metapuzzle that 'unlocks' at some point which ties together the answers to all the other puzzles to give a final answer to the hunt. Per Wikipedia, "Puzzlehunt puzzles are usually not accompanied by direct instructions for how to solve them; figuring out the necessary approach is part of the puzzle." If solved correctly, it should always be clear that the answer you have is *the* answer to the puzzle.

If anyone fancies trying to have a go, I recommend teaming up - especially if you've never done puzzlehunt-style puzzles before. Equally if you're just interested feel free to sign up and put as much effort in as you want. If there is any point at all to me having done this (which there isn't) then it's for people to have fun solving it. On that note, there will probably be a hint system at some point but in the meantime feel free to message me if you're stuck and want a hint.

I hope the festive period treats you all well!
So I think that means "any time".

Well maybe, although I always REALLY struggle to keep up on these things and can never follow what anyone else is doing. So I'm never actually any help!

But definitely can't even consider it at the moment How is it Christmas in three days? How did that happen?

Yeah, I was thinking that releasing a puzzle hunt at Christmas is a really dumb idea; nobody has any time to do it. I mean, what sort of an idiot would do that? :D

I was actually thinking of you when I saw Ali's message, and that it would be a chance for you to get a bit of solving done, instead of just setting. And PB-wrangling of course.
