Re: Well known phrases and sayings
That's not really helping much. Nor is it that I still can't seem to shake the letters into the correct order.

Now my mind is uselessly looking for another Ready-to-Go hyphen
Re: Well known phrases and sayings
Ah, well now I have swapped the opaque glasses for rose-tinted, I can see the world through them.

A dollar a day?
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Don't know, it's not a phrase I've ever heard - so just guessing randomly!

Re: Well known phrases and sayings
I only said that as we were told the D's were right but the wrong order. I wouldn't have got it but have since googled it.
Re: Well known phrases and sayings
Another Day, Another Dollar isn't a phrase I thought of as obscure.
Re: Well known phrases and sayings
I don't think it's especially obscure. But (as ever) I am not a representative sample.

Well, I'm not saying it's obscure. I'm saying I didn't know it, which is an entirely different thing!

Well set another one then
Re: Well known phrases and sayings
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply it was obscure and it did in fact trigger a bell in my head but I was not being bright enough to get it.
Was very interested to read where the phrase originated though.

Well, I suppose it could be either! I'm obviously not as polite as you!

I call on Scurra again as "not representative sample" witness
Re: Well known phrases and sayings
I'd have got ISIHAC instantly. But I'd imagine that IHGAC would technically be a more 'well-known' usage. (I'd probably use IHGAC in a puzzle, for example.)
