TBH that might work better for my really rubbish hint!
Maybe I should have said sweltering vase-maker?

OK try working this out. It's two different answers that are the same, but different.
Confused? You'll see what I mean when you get it. Just a bit of silliness.

Aha! Very clever.
I shall give others a chance to think about it before I post an answer but I believe I might know what it is.

Don't give too much time to think, it/they isnae that puzzling, it was just a little problematic to explain

Ah, me too - are we talking heteronyms?

Scurra, puzzle potential?

Of course there's nothing new about the puzzling potential for heteronyms - how many times have you seen "flower" in a cryptic crossword clue?

It's a TOWER SHOWER, or, alternatively, a TOWER SHOWER.

If you'd put Maid of Orleans I could forcibly wrangle that into French Wench but nothing like the proper answer. And that still would have been quite brutish.

You're on the right track. Here's a different one that will possibly give it away.
Macron's second eleven?

Hmmm, not sure that helps much.
A second eleven is usually known as the B-team, which is 5 letters but I can't work out the connection to the original clue at all.

I don't get it either. Wondered about French Bench but mainly because it rhymes!

No idea why for either though.
