 Does this imply that you are the "hooligan", Giraffe?

...Although, if I'm honest, I did always particularly enjoy arranging for a demonstration at the primary school fete (I used to be a school governor and secretary of the School Association). What an excellent excuse to have to deal with lots of hunky firemen! :D Mind you, I did also have to deal with the old fella who brought his old vintage car along and hurtled around the school field at break neck speeds with loads of excited kids bouncing around in the back too. He wasn't quite such a catch. :? Crikey, the more I think about it the more I can't believe the things I ended up doing - snail racing, being dressed as Cleopatra and having jelly thrown at me, to name but a few...

Oh and BB. What can I say? That cheesecake recipe sounds wonderful, and I just have to make it. So it'll be on your conscience that I'll put on another couple of pounds... :D

Primary school fete? That reminds me of the time some bright spark thought we should have a game of "Mildred's Mess" They borrowed a cow and put it on the school playing field, and divided the field up into squares, and sold the squares. The idea was to guess where the first "pat" would land

(I thought the whole thing was a bit unhygenic given that the kids would be running, jumping and sitting on the field afterwards)

Anyway throughout the afternoon someone kept popping over to the field to see if she had performed. At the end of the afternoon she still hadn't done anything, so they drew a square out of a hat!

Needles to say they only did it once.

And no I wasn't the hooligan, and I didn't even go to investigate the firemen. The only one I saw from the bedroom window seemed to be a firewoman.

 What a GREAT plan

I still feel bad about organising a balloon race (you know, where the kids all let off a helium balloon with a tag on it to see which goes the furthest.)
Later heard that this is sometimes the cause of turtle deaths -they like the look of the rubber (thinking it's a jelly fish) and then suffocate. (My son is going to go to Cyprus to study turtles as part of his degree; I'm hoping he has forgotten that was my idea! :? )

....and that's JUST your luck, re the firelady, isn't it?

We've taken our Brownies to the fire station before now. I've never had so many mums volunteer to come on a trip. The only problem is that all the ones they give to us to show us around are old men - not at all hunky! I think it's part of the retirement plan!!!!

Giraffe - are you sure this wasnt a cunning plan by the Bunny :?:

Create a diversion with promise of hunky men in Uniform (I only said a promise!!) whilst the Bunny devours your veg whilst you're looking the other way :?:

...wanders away whistling innocently...

A woman I know applied for a job as a clerk at the local fire station. She knew she'd got the job when a fire engine, complete with firemen in uniform, flashing blue lights and sirens going arrived at her front door to deliver her offer of employment!!

 I wasn't there at the crucial moment when people were being asked to go on the Bassingbourne army day trip at work. So no oggling men in uniform or free army dinner for me next week. Oh, and I won't be able to bemuse the soldiers by sprawling myself across the front of a tank like those girls do to advertise sports cars for a comedy photo opportunity... (The kids thought that was hysterical last time). :D

Ah - but you do have the opportunity of being manhandled by the rugby team - there's always a bright side ;)

Well, if I was physically able* to get up however early I would need to, to get to Lincoln from Hertfordshire, and wasn't having to go to work and deal with squiddlywinks, then I would!!

*I was just telling MBH how I am totally unable to function in the mornings. Can't speak until about 9am. Must be because I'm staying up all hours doing... what am I doing? Oh yeah, talking to you lot!!

You need to drink more tea. At least a pint, before you go to work.

Oh, and eat Frosties and cherries of course. :D :D :D

Oh, that's with a pint of tea. Just imagine what I'm like without that. Doesn't bear thinking of.

I can't drink tea until about 10 am, before that I'm on coffee. Breakfast needs to be a distant memory before my stomach can cope with tea.

Frosties and cherries, yes please. Although it is quite a long way for me to travel too. How about Friday when I would be starting off from somewhat nearer?
