Oh, she'd be good at weilding a wrench. Just like her mother, so watch out!!

.... .... watching those crazy people on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square : live webcam on: http://www.oneandother.co.uk.
Has anyone been to see them for real?
Scurra??
At least I know there's no risk of you wanting to get up there yourself, with your horrendous vertigo :( :( (though a Jester leaping about could be fun.....)

Yes, I did actually consider applying until I remembered how tall the actual plinth was (it's really not that high - but it is for me!) Even with all that protective shielding around the outside (which is supposed to stop interlopers as much as anything I think), I'd probably have spent my hour curled up in a ball...

Hmmm. Me too. Just looking at it made me feel sick. But then I have problems standing on the landing INSIDE the school 3 storey block when I can see out of the window. The kids know by now that they have to stand between me and the window.

I'd LOVE to know what you would have done on it though, Scurra! :D

They've been pretty unimaginitive so far on the whole.....
However, some poor soul just got caught in the most horrendous thunderstorm that lasted precisely for her session from 5pm to 6pm - really bad luck and she couldn't do a thing. You could see the rain bouncing up all around her and hear the thunder. It was so black that you could hardly see - and the webcam was covered in raindrops. I've never seen anyone so wet!

I felt sick just looking at the photos. Really sick. But then you are an ugly lot.

Don't mean it really. You're lovely.

I did once go on the London Eye (my best friend's 40th birthday, how could I not?) I was like a gibbering wreck. But apparently (insert name of actress who was in Green Card who does those awful L Orial adverts) was on it the day before me. She apparently laid down on the floor spreadeagled for the entire revolution screaming "MAKE IT STOP"!!!

Ah, found her I mean Andie MacDowell. AKA Dandy McOwl

Know how you feel - after several attempts ...... I made it to the ticket queue for the London Eye.... having had a glass of wine at lunchtime to give me some Dutch courage :!: :!: and whilst in the queue decided 'No - its not for me!!'

Had lunch in the Gherkin building in London last year - one level down from the top floor - fantastic views over London - even looking out from the centre of the building - as you wouldn't get me any where near the windows at that height!! felt really bad - as some of our hosts were standing near the windows - and I couldnt physically go over to say hello to them... think they soon realised and thankfully came over to me!!

I'm useless with heights :|

when we went to New Zealand a few years back, we visited Sky Tower in Auckland (tallest structure in southern hemisphere). Sigur was fine, even up on the observation platform, standing close to the underfoot windows, until he thought about how they put the grills round underneath the windows....

see its over thinking that causes the problems
:-D
when i first tried abseiling we were on a bridge with ropes bolted into the stone work....id checked them out all secure so i felt safe got the harness on over the edge stood on to the out side of the wall paused started to lower my foot and the "helpful" instructor (obviously bothered id paused holding onto the wall) decided to tell me the wall's old dont hold on to that hold on to the ropes......

strangely enough i didnt make it down after that...

I was amazingly proud of myself to be able to go to the top of Segrada Familia (holding on to OH). It was only when we got back to the bottom that I passed out. OH said he could feel me shaking all the way round and that I was as white as a sheet.

I'm kind-of 'OK' with heights. I've got vague memories of sitting on the top of the roof of our house (2-stories plus big attic) when I was a kid - helping my dad with some repairs. No safety ropes or such things in those days - you were just 'carefull'.

Notice - I was VERY good and did not post anything from my picture collecton :)

I'm no good on fairground rides (sudden twists, spinning etc = motion sickness) but I'm more than happy on the biggest of big-wheels. Loved the London Eye when I had a ride on it a few years ago. My one trip to Austria included a ride on a cable-car :)

Well I'm absolutely fine on The Eye. I can also usually manage proper roller coasters including the ones with multiple loops as long as I'm securely strapped in. I don't like the things that go backwards and forwards or other kinds of repetitive motion. And I don't like things where I feel too vulnerable like where the hand rail is below waist height.

My biggest problem with the London Eye was the boredom. After about 20 seconds I'd seen everything there was to see, and was stuck on there for ages.

Heights don't tend to bother me. I've been up several cathedrals (St Paul's, Worcester, Chester, Lincoln) and the Eiffel Tower (where I walked up the stairs of the east tower, due to a slight misunderstanding when queueing for the lift - I hadn't realised the queue I was in was for those who'd already bought their tickets).
