...doing spreadsheet avoidance. Haven't I Gill?

I brought them home, telling my boss that I couldn't concentrate at work because people kept asking me questions and coming in for a chat. So what have I done? Been looking at puzzles, chatting to Gill, and nosing on here to see what everyone else has been doing. No willpower, whatsoever. Flaming spreadsheets are no further forward. I hate spreadsheets.

I've been refreshing the typhoon page all day! I am examining in Macau this weekend and have to take a ferry to get there don't I. I stopped by the pharmacist to get the dramamine and was looking forward to a nice dinner.

In class today I saw the warning was at 1, so of course I had to look and see where it was. Darned if it isn't making a nice line right between Hong Kong and Macau. Tomorrow the signal in the morning will be a 3, and late afternoon, early evening it suposed to go up to an 8. Rough seas all the way! I so want to call in sick! I don't think that dramamine is going to work.

I think you should call in sick too as you certainly will be by the time you get there if not before. That ferry is not the nicest of places to be at the best of times.

This week I've mostly bin on an emotional rollercoaster. Last week of school, so as well as all the top class leaving, who I work really closely with in the show, and so get very upset when they get all teary, my biggest two biggest pals, and unofficial mentors were both retiring yesterday. Lots of tears (I'm useless at not crying), but then my sister and brother-in-law stopped the night on the way to their coast-to-coast walk, which was lovely, and today I'm going to London to see Hairspray again!!!!! Woo-hooooo!!!!!!

I've never been so glad to be home!

I went to Macau anyway. Took my dramamine, didn't eat any breakfast or lunch because I didn't want to take a chance.

Going down was such a smooth ride it wasn't funny. I visited my exhibition then went to work. During hte late afternoon, HK raised the signal to a 3, and I watched it come down in sideways sheets of rain. Panicing, I hacked the computer in the room I was in, and got on to the US Navy Satelite photo pgae to check out the weather for the ride home.

Not too bad looking, so I ran to the ferry pier after the tests and opted out of dinner wanting to get home before the bad stuff hit.

the first 45 minutes of the trip were fine. It was the last 15 that were the killer! Thankfully, I was with a girl who lives on a boat and she kept giving me updates on how "small" the swells were. 3 meters is not that small folks! Today wasn't as bad as the last time, and I made it without being sick! The worst part was seriously the last 5 minutes when we got back into the HK harbour. I learned today that the roughest seas during a storm are within the harbour itself. The open areas are much much much smoother. Who'ld have known?

But who cares? I'M ALIVE!!!

And Monday, I have a 2 hour ferry ride to a toy manufaturing factory in China! Oh joy. Dramamine is ready and my friends know that we will eat the minute we land safely. Cross you fingers for me to have smooth seas!

Fingers crossed for you katsmom. ;)

........ collecting together all the photos I have of Luna. Most of you don't know that our beautiful cat was run over last Sunday morning just outside our back gate. I feel like a light has gone out in our house, she was such a lovely cat, full of character. She was always making us smile and was very good natured too. :(
The stupid thing is that the Army road where she was killed gets about 8 vehicles going past on a busy day.
The plan is to make a collage from the photos so we have something by which to remember her.

Sorry to hear about poor Luna :( They are a big miss when they go.

We've lost all 4 of our cats in the last 3 years. THey all had VERY good lives, but it's strange to open a door and not have one of them shoot through it.

The youngest two (always known as 'The Kittens') were 'rescued' from the Cat & Dog shelter suffering from cat flu. My wife wanted to give them a nice place to spend there few weeks of life.

They went on to live 18-years. So they can't really complain.

Still very hard to see them go.......
