Re: Finished!!!
And a well done from me as well Maisie.

Well done Maisie
It's interesting that a lot of you have got the Meta without filling in all the gaps. I'll need to keep looking at that (when I make any more progress).

Re: Finished!!!
Well it's supposed to work like that! I think Cenwulf did it with only about half the answers (and some inspired guesswork, I think he'll agree.)
Actually, it works like that more than people seem to think. For some reason, people tend to assume that the meta can only be solved after all the other puzzles have been done. Whereas a lot of the time the meta can give you some valuable clues about what you are looking for in the rest of the puzzles, once you've worked out what is going on! ("Court in the Act" is a good example of this.) This time the connection between the puzzle answers is a little more obvious, as is the underlying pattern.
Of course, sometimes it won't help you at all. But hey, you can't have everything

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Re: Finished!!!
Well done Maisie - hope you enjoyed that wonderful moment when the penny dropped
And yes, I am also still struggling with those last few puzzles - it's not necessarily a huge help having some idea of what the answer must be, unless you can spot the method for getting there...

Cor, what a clever lot you all are.

Re: Finished!!!
It was nearly two thirds of the answers (16 out of 25), and yes I did use some guesswork to fill in some gaps - something I seem to do a lot.Scurra wrote:I think Cenwulf did it with only about half the answers (and some inspired guesswork, I think he'll agree.)
And I didn't get any vauxhalls until after I'd got the Meta answer. It was in fact the other way round - the Meta gave me pointers to the vauxhalls.

Re: Finished!!!
Having completed a couple more puzzles something is beginning to emerge from the fog. It just doesn't make sense yet.
