Actually, Giraffe, I was thinking how pretty you look in that picture. And I'm not just being a creep. :D

And Brian, I'm sure you said somewhere you're quite tall, and clearly of rugby playing build. So I'd be quite surprised if you'd told me you were 9 stone.

Scurra, can you REALLY not remember who people are? You do worry me sometimes. Even I can remember that, and I have the worst memory in the whole world.

Oh dearie me. Bet you'd recognise Scurra if he popped up in one of your family photos though.

OK - getting annoying here [ ;) ] You are a lovely young lass, and have nothing to worry about. You had already seen my photos from past meets, but I needed to use my logic-puzzle-solving skills to work out who you were when you came round the corner (so there was about a 10% chance I called you katsmom  )

That's a lovely photo with our resident Bunny and Fraggle on - so behave yourself !!

As for remembering who's who - a combination of real names, forum names, actor names, and what we sometimes call each other could add to a bit of confusion

  Katsmom arriving really would have been a result, wouldn't it? Maybe I should have announced myself as someone else. Then I could have blamed them for any untoward comments I accidentally made!! But then the Fraggle had already met me, so I would have had to pay her off first...

Yeah, I could have done that. I could probably have "accidentally" stepped on her. Speaking of Fraggles, has anyone heard if she got back ok?

I think this was mentioned at the 'meet - for whatever reason, the part of my memory that should be filled with useful things (like "don't put red things in with white in the wash" and the face-recognition bit) is instead filled with things like lists of Oscar-winning movies, titles of Charles Dickens' novels, breeds of dog and so on. I usually have to meet someone every week for about three months before I can reliably remember their names... So I don't have a "bad memory" as such, I just have a strangely organised one.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Well, I suppose we all have different strengths.

You do realise you are speaking to the woman who, not so very long ago, accidentally called her husband "Wilfred". Wilfred was my Mum's (very ugly) tom cat. I'm rubbish with names, great with faces. Average with the red in white washing thing and completely hopeless with anything else. Memory is so bad that when my friend Jill rings me on a Monday, and asks what I've been doing at the weekend, I often struggle to remember. Bath chair and dribbling Complan down my chin here I come.

I have a friend Liz and every time she rings me up and says " Hello it's Liz" I think Liz who? I think because I see her nearly every day I don't expect her to phone me. If I'm introduced to two people at the same time I usually can't remember which is which. And if I'm introduced to more than two my brain turns off and I don't even listen to their names when they are introduced!

My mother in law called me either Graham or Sam for years. (Sam being her dog)

My husband once rang up the cattery to book our two cats in for while we were away. He was asked their names and replied "Emma and Katie". Katie is our daughter
So we teased her that she wasn't coming on holiday but Posy was.

   Excellent. But my question to you is: have you ever been so distracted that when the phone rings you've opened the fridge and said "There's nobody there!"?

Hi all, We've just got back and Im absolutely knackered! Thank you Supersleuth for having us as your guests and your hosptiality - I hope your neighbours dont think we are completely barmy. Thank you also to Looby and LA for your part in hosting this meet. Great to see all the familiar faces and the new ones! :D

The end puzzle solution by the way was an absolute cracker of an answer!

I will log back in later to see what's what - my grand-daughter has just come in and I cant type with her on my knee!

glad to hear everyone had a good time.

As for the names discussion. I have a solution - just don't use people's names. Of course, that's a self-perpetuating problem - you've got even less chance of remembering people's names if you don't use them, but I don't suppose I'm that bad at remembering names, I just find it easier not to use them in case I get it wrong.
Bunny: I have difficulty remembering what I did last night, let alone last weekend...
and yet, when it comes to remembering where I left something, I can nearly always remember an image of where I saw it last - the trick is working out where I'm remembering! (well, except for the moment, when none of my memory is working properly, but I'm hoping that will recover at some point)
Perseverance: - the courage to ignore the obvious wisdom and carry on anyway

OH MY!!!! I have just realised there's a pic of me on there - complete with my big fat face. That's it! Im on a diet starting from now!!!

The baby has gone home again - so I will just take the opportunity to say thank you to Gill and Colin for letting us turn this meet into a holiday. Ive just been bragging to my mum about the caravan! Ivan and I have also just P.E.'ed each other  Gill - only you will know what this is - since you did it to me.

Bunny, thank you for the puzzles, they are excellent - Ive done bits of some so will be asking some questions very soon. I started with the logic puzzle. Im also sporting my new Puzzlebrains accessory - it's got all my puzzle stuff in it - thank you Gill, they are fab!!!

I would like to also lastly add a big thank you to Giraffe for bringing the two youngest members of PB to the meet. They are both fab and totally made my day, they were our legs and our brains completing the treasure hunt. I didn't even corrupt them - apart from teaching them one very important lesson - If at first you dont succeed - CHEAT!
