Lovely. Just make the most of this time. He'll be a "vile" teenager all too soon. Looking back, I can't believe how quickly the time has gone.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
But even vile teenagers can turn into lovely helpful hosts for a puzzlebrains meet.
Not that I'm suggesting he was ever vile Supersleuth.

He looks delightful - and so innocent! Wait til he can crawl, then nothing is ever safe again.
There's no point in having a last minute if you don't use it!

Oh goodness, I remember that. Picking up bits of fluff off the carpet and "tasting" it, crawling off the bed when I didn't know she could crawl, etc. Oh, the joys!!

Great photo eirian - but you forgot the thought bubble:
"Come on, Come ON - what do you mean the postman didn't have it?"
This weekend I've mostly bin..... spending time with the Lovers.
.... which unfortunately is the name of a puzzle
Have I solved it???? Have I heck

Oh, and I have never seen anyone move as fast as the Health Visitor when I briefly turned my back on Thomas when he was lying on the table before being weighed.... she's seen too many babies suddenly learn to roll over and fall off things! (Some friends of ours took their little boy into A&E after a fall off a bed and were really worried about being thought bad parents for allowing it to happen. The nurse just said 'I'm surprised we haven't seen him before now, and don't worry, we'll see lots of him in the future as well - he's a little boy!')
And thanks all for the comments - I definitely think Thomas is cute, but then, I'm horrendously biased!
mostly bin.... planning as we've got the afternoon to ourselves - MIL is looking after Thomas for us. I may say the extent of our plans is a trip to Mothercare and M&S foodhall!

Well, yes, but it is different from feeding a baby and not sleeping, so I'm sure you'll have a lovely afternoon whatever you do!!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
K didn't roll over until she was nine months old and she learn't to crawl. (No point before that) F rolled over at about 7 weeks, so that was a shock!! Total pain because if you put him down he rolled over and then yelled because he was face down to the floor. I don't think I ever put Lally down for fear she'd be trodden on

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
David learned to climb REALLY early. I first realised just how good he was at doing it when I went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, and heard crashing. The little g*t had climbed on a toy to get on a chair, from the chair to the dresser, and had hauled himself up by holding onto the plate racks. The crashing was the sound of the plates hitting the floor.
And this was before he learned to walk at the age of about 11 months.
Should've known what I was in for...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
My son climbed out of his cot at nine months, heard a crash and dashed upstairs to find him wailing but otherwise unharmed on the floor. Clearly he didn't want a nap after lunch!
We don't stop laughing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop laughing!
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Lally climbed out of the cot, but I think she was a bit older than that. I heard a bang and went to investigate and she met me at the top of the stairs
. I hadn't closed the babygates, because I thought she was safe in the cot.
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I remember my oldest Kara walked at about 9.5 months - surprising as she only sat upright and cruised a couple of weeks before.
My middle one walked at about a year and Josh my youngest wasnt walking until we went on holiday with my parents and the grass was really rough so he had to walk or hurt his knees.
Talking - my oldest I remember the midwife being surprised that my oldest was so clear with her talking at 16 months when she insisted that the midwife washed her hands before seeing to her little sister. My middle one put two words together at 15 months even earlier and Josh was quite happy as long as everyone was seeing to what he wanted. (things haven't changed a great deal)
I remember having problems when my middle one was at school and everyone was complaining that their children couldn't managing the reading in reception class and I had the problem that she wouldn't read the school books because she was busy working her way throught secret seven. I even had the problem that a helper mum announced before the rest of the mums that she didnt think my daughter understood the school books as she wouldn#t tell her what they were about and I discussed this with my daughter and she said that if she wanted to know what the book was about she should read it herself.!! still v embarrasing to have your child discussed in front of all the other parents.
She was too tired for school because I kept finding she was reading a whole book under the covers. She is still a good reader as are both my girls = my son can read what he wants but just whenever he feels like it. The school were really good thought as when she was still quite young they got me to read northern lights before they let her read it so they knew that although very young she would cope with the content. I thought that was really good.
I also remember at 5 my oldest was out with people at a hotel and they suggested a fab lollie and she said she couldn't because it had gelatine and that was something we were avoiding (bsb) = they couldn#t believe a 5 year old could read an ingredient list let alone realise that it was a banned substance. She is still a brilliant reader and set up a reading club at her school.
I think that the personality of my children was more important than inteligence. If you measured them Lauren would be top, josh middle, and Kara bottom but in terms of application, Kara is doing the best followed by lauren then Josh which directly links to their motivation and wanting to please.
I find this quite fascinating that personality seems to mean more than ability. I think from recent posts that others are finding this the case too.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
spelling is extremely overrated. I am getting worse as computers and phones are getting better. Also my son cannot spell or do captial letters or punctuation but if really motivated he can write a stroy that would bring tears to your eyes it is the content that is important. Also I am attempting a degree in business and the computer helps me with the punctuation now. Although my daughters also read through and were very kindly saying that they could not manage to read a four line sentence without any breathing spaces (commas). Also playing scatagories last night my nephew who cannot spell managed a double score by thinking of things like fly fishing as opposed to fishing which doubled his score (2 f's). So far on my essays I have managed the lowest at 70% which I am really pleased with considering I was only allowed to enter CSE's at school. Mind you I managed 5 grade 1's which I think might be because I was too shy at school and could have actually done o levels if I had had shown more confidence, and the teachers had believe in me.

Yes - the right teacher are so important.
Unfortunately my brother has always said how much better he is than me because he was in the top stream but about a year ago I discoved he was in the top stream because my parents pushed for it and they wanted to do the same for me but I wanted to achieve on my own merits and wouldn't let them - not sure who was right now I am a parent too.
Anyway my brother has a lot more confidence but between you and the rest of the forum he is not that brilliant - he just thinks he is. At the family do he went around saying he was my younger brother because he looks so young but to be honest if I had had an eye job and a re-thatch job (not that I need that) I would probably look younger. and he is still going bald and not a nice person either. He just seems to take every occasion to put me down and my parents laugh and say that's just his insecurity. Not that its relevant but I am only three years younger than him and haven't even got enough greys to start dying my hair let alone losing enough to have a re-thatch. I wouldn't mind but he usually gets my dad to pay for his operations, and the fact that they always make excuses for him.
I shouldn't go on so but sometimes it just gets to you.
