Illnesses and Injuries....
I thought I'd start up a new thread where we can keep each other updated with illnesses and ailments when it is appropriate to share.
I think that Battleships was written especially for me (even though the writer didn't know the following facts). I HAVE spent the morning with it on the computer screen 'playing' with it - but I can't get any damned logic out of it
However.....
Due to long term pain and excessive (2,4) and (7,4) that is only eased but not cured by a (11,6) environment, I'm hopefully off to the hospital [now to be known as the (4,5-4)] on Monday to have the (4,6) removed from my nose and a nasty sounding 'flushing' of my sinuses. [Graphic details later for those that are interested]
It is a total knock-out job (I wouldn't have it any other way if it had been offered), so the next couple of weeks will be odd. I'll either be in a permenant (7,2)+(2,4) or I'll have time to do some puzzles and maybe come online. This message is just in case I 'vanish' and you wonder where I've gone.
If I can't get to the computer, I can always send a message through my (6,1-6-1-3) to let you know I'm OK.
Fingers crossed that there is a bed for me, and the current nasal infection does not give them an excuse to put it off. [Sorting work, and preparing the house for this has been a bind] It's one of those jobs that should be better once done, but I seem to grow (4,6) like other people grow weeds I did ask the questions "How" and "Why" - but it seems that nobody knows! I'm told there is a 'specialist' who might be interested in me

Re: Illnesses and Injuries....
MBH. I feel for you. I get that "sinus flushing" done once a year. Had some quack dr. do a rota-rooter job on my sinuses about 15 years ago, it was supposed to stop the problems. They didn't tell me that scar tissue might develop and it might get worse now did they. It's not quite as bad as it sounds. It just feels like you are drowning for about 10 minutes
Hope you get better soon!

I'll be in touch anyway (probably irritiating the hell out of MBH checking he's ok every 5 minutes ) so just in case he can't get on line I can always pass on any messages. Like "For goodness sake, hurry up coming back, that damned rabbit is driving us mad!"
We'll be thinking of you MBH. Hope it all goes smoothly and as painlessly as possible.

Hope all goes well MBH. I've had what Katsmom described as a rota roota job on one of my sinuses so I can sympathise with what you're going through. Mine was very successful.

Re: Illnesses and Injuries....
They were delving around up there 5 years ago and cleared everything out - but they grow back
We'll see how things go - apart from not liking feeling ill, I'm not 'worrying' about it. As long as I don't LOOK at needles I can usually manage whatever needs to be done.

Re: Illnesses and Injuries....
My hairdresser had major sinus problems and she was due to go in and have something done about it when she found she was pregnant. So a year later plus a lovely little baby girl she goes back to doc and he re scanned and found that all the polyps etc had shrunk and she no longer needed an op. Now MBH I'm not suggesting you try that route but think of the publicity money you could make from your story

Re: Illnesses and Injuries....
So.... following that logic......... that means the baby girls are not sugar and spice and all things nice, but are mainly made up of redirected polyp mass That explains some of the girls back at school

Re: Illnesses and Injuries....
THAT really made me laugh out loud. I could name quite a few little madams from school who I'd like to suggest may be constructed from redirected polyp mass. So you don't fancy getting pregnant then MBH? I think you'd make a lovely mum...

You'll be fine Just keep reminding yourself how great it is when you are out the other side of it all and are fully functioning again.... . In the meantime, make the most of being looked after and fussed over

Re: Illnesses and Injuries....
Yeah, um... well... can I bring myself to post this here? I guess I have to, I don't know where else to go to say anything...
My uncle had surgery on Wednesday for cancer discovered after removal of polyps. 10 of them, "safety in numbers" they said. So on Wednesday he had keyhole surgery on his stomach and part of it removed, and a section of intestine cut out and rejoined in a 7 hour operation. There was a spot showing on his liver in the scan, but they weren't sure about that so they were going to see about that in a couple of weeks after reviewing his response to this surgery.
On Thursday he was sitting up and talking, sort of.
On Friday he was moved from intensive care to the ward.
All quite positive.
On Friday evening my aunt was called and told he'd "taken a turn for the worse", "he's a very sick man" and that he'd been taken back to surgery, his lungs were filling up with fluid and various other complications.
It turns out that although there are other possible explanations (back covering) it seems that the stomach keyhole surgery wasn't closed off properly and his digestive enzymes have been leaking internally. He's got septicaemia, and a bunch of other complications now. In a coma.
My aunt has been told to come in at 9:00 am tomorrow. If he's not responded and there are positive signs, then they will stop all drugs and treatment and just let him go.

Hope the news is more positive tomorrow sparkout, I'll keep you and yours in my prayers.
I'm off to ENT tomorrow to see if they are going to cut out the lump in my neck (hope not)
Tuesday Physio for my shoulder which I wrenched again today catching a cup falling out of a cupboard and then in the afternoon off to the chiropractor/Kinesiologist to see if he can cure me of all the other painful spots that I have.
