Don't be daft! I heard the report of umpteen inches of snow in Manchester and thought "ah, that'll mean a day off work..."
I'm not sure why we get so hung up here about staying home when the snow comes so badly - other countries do the same as a matter of course.... It is a stupid fetish to say that it is costing the country millions of pounds in lost work - it will all be made up afterwards! And kids won't turn into imbeciles just because of a day or two off school.

Oh I envy you all your snow! I so wish we had some!

I spent the day pandering to a 40 somthing spoiled brat. I don't do brat's well so he's off my teaching roster next term  Jokes on him. I gave him a chance, he pouted, stomped his foot and threw a worse tantrum than Katherine ever has. Scratched his name off the list! And it felt so good. Of course that means extra work for me, but I ended up doing half his anyway so it just makes life easier.

Signing into PuzzleBrains after a long absence. I swear I will get somewhere with this magazine if it kills me. Which it probably will because I am so out of practice. (Once again I've been loaded down with work and even on my more than 4 weeks holiday (not really) I was still working from home everyday.) Do you guys know how much you post in a month! My goodness I have a ton of pages to read through.

Here's a tip. Mark "Bunnylump" as a Foe in your friends and foes list. You'll find that you suddenly have about 50% less to get through :D :D :D :D

I've been covering for our Specific Learning Difficulty specialist teacher (who's currently in New Zealand for 6 weeks). I LOVED it. It means I can work entirely on my own with one or two pupils at a time. This for me is like a licence to PLAY. I can have wonderful fun thinking up weird and wonderful ways to get the message across and can have lots of fun with them. :D I'll actually be a bit sad if the school gets shut for snow reasons tomorrow! (Mad, yes.) Although I have to admit part of me is looking forward to sledging too.

And (hope you're impressed) I've been for a brisk walk with my daughter (before we get snowed in) in a continued effort to be a bit more healthy. Which I had started yesterday and got kaiboshed by a kid who brought me in some chocolate today.

I walked as far as the post box today (200yds) and nearly went flying on the 1/4 inch of snow lying on the 1/2 inch of ice on the pavement. I don't think I would have survived a brisk walk.
My resolution to walk more is going to have to wait until things thaw out a bit.

OK, I won't ignore it any more.

He really would miss me, you know. He doesn't realise this, of course.

And, my pretending to ignore it tactic worked like a charm. He's just pm'd me to assure me that it was a joke. I think someone's panicking, worried they may get a visitation - after all, it's only about 30 miles away... And I have got wellies and a warm coat - so even the snow wouldn't stop me if I was determined....

I bet he's REALLY scared now.

Oh, so you got my message then? I can only assume that you don't have me marked as "foe" then?

Heh heh heh - he fell for it. 8-)

Hey, I can't afford to have you marked as a "foe".
I have got you labelled as "nemesis" though.

How could you possibly have me labelled as "Nemesis"? I'm represented by a cute fluffy bunny rabbit and even have a reasonably appealing sounding username. Which (like I was saying to LAT) very nicely conceals my inner Rottweiller -which you will very shortly experience first hand, now Cenwulf's reassured me that this must mean that you want some vengeance and retribution... :D

The sun came out so went for a walk along the lane and took some photos of the snowy landscape.

keeping warm except when I decided to try and walk to Sainsbury's for emergency supplies like milk.....went flying thanks to my weakened ankle!

Oh well, I'm having fun watching the kids build snowmen in the park at the back of my house, I can see them from my bedroom window :)

Making exceptionally constructive use of my day off. Tax payers, don't despair. All my activities so far have been rooted in education.
So far I have been involved in:

PE - having a snowball fight with my son.

Technology - building a giant snowman and a snow dalek (pictures later hopefully)

Food Technology - making yummy soup and later making Dabble Grish for the birds.

Music - currently listening to my daughter playing the piano (Eianaudi -spelling? - very nice).

Poetry - have just written a rude verse to send to blind friend whose Christmas card with usual insults went missing.

All in all, I do think I deserve to be paid today. Honest. :D

.....tidying away the Chrissy Decs.
Struggled down to the local shop this morning to find they had no bread milk or potatoes. My socks kept wriggling down towards my toes leaving my heels exposed in my wellies.
It hasn't stopped snowing today. Luckily my boss rang to say that he wasn't going anywhere so he doesnt expect me to either.

Am now sitting here with a poor little kitten on my lap. Apparently she seems to have badly strained a muscle in one leg. The vet said it looks quite bad and she will have been in a lot of pain but he can't see any signs of anything broken. He also said this is pretty rare, so much so that no papers have been written on the subject. We were told to make sure she gets plenty of rest. This made me laugh as I haven't seen her move more than a yard at a time for over 2 weeks now
