Word Zendo
Re: Word Zendo
Master, were it possible to meet in the cycles of existence before reaching enlightenment, would the Buddha greet Charles Babbage warmly, and give Alan Turing the cold shoulder?
Re: Word Zendo
Goodness me, the students are enthusiastic this evening. I wonder what has got them so excited?
Student Cenwulf, the master would like to inform you that he prefers cabbage to cauliflower.
Alas, student Bunnylump, the master frowns on these nefarious assassination attempts, and declines both Hellebore and Hemlock.
But student SparkOut seems to be making great strides: the master looks forward to meeting Mr Babbage instead of Mr Turing (although he certainly admires them both.)
And student MBH - could you refrain from passing comment in class unless you wish to make an offering yourself? It makes for confusing reading, especially at the top of a page!

Re: Word Zendo
Greetings, o students in search of wisdom. As your new Master, I am understandably keen to impart the knowledge I have learned on my travels. In my quest for enlightenment, I discovered that (as you may have surmised already), apples are far more appreciated than bananas, but also that eggs are far more attractive than bacon.
Buddha-boom:
acceptable apples Babbage buddy cabbage eggs Fraggle giggle glass giraffes paddles skinny tabby tubby
Buddha-bust:
arsenic bananas bacon Buddha camels carafe cauliflower Clown cold creek gelignite hellebore hemlock Hood hot laugh loose mango rabbit raffle Saffron salmon Siamese shallot tight tombolla Turing
Budda-knows:
giraffe
LAT
MBH
SparkOut (x3)

Re: Word Zendo
I am disappointed that the master has declined my well-intentioned offerings. I would therefore like to make amends by suggesting Meadow Saffron rather than Monk's Hood. Very tasty stir fried, I believe.

Re: Word Zendo
The Master has obviously never had twins in his class before It could be worse, we could have a Fraggle and a Clown as well.
Re: Word Zendo
master i would like to offer some more tasty foods for your dinner rabbit and shallot will always make a tastefull meal whereas salmon and mango could be a disaster.
We don't stop laughing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop laughing!
Re: Word Zendo
Student Bunnylump persists in trying to tempt the Master with suspicious food: he declines both the offer of Meadow Saffron and Monk's Hood.
And he also declines the kind offering from student Kathlyn of rabbit, shallot, salmon and mango, despite the fact that they all look much more appetizing.
However, student MBH is correct in his suggestion that we would be better off with a Fraggle than with a Clown...

Re: Word Zendo
Seeking merely to understand the Buddha more clearly, I wondered when he is amused is he more likely to giggle than to laugh?

Master, is the Buddha himself a friend, but never a buddy?

Yeah, mine too, Laura. I'm enjoying the opportunity of trying to poison the master though!!Laura wrote:O help! This is melting my brain again!!!!

What has the master ever done to you?!Bunnylump wrote:I'm enjoying the opportunity of trying to poison the master though!!
Student LAT is very astute - the Buddha does indeed favour a giggle over a laugh.
However, student SparkOut has got the wrong end of the stick: he is a Buddy but never a Buddha...

I think you must be confusing me with someone else. I have no idea what you are talking about. (And anyway, you started it. Yes, you did. You invaded Poland.)Bunnylump wrote:Oh nothing. Just threats of violence...

Re: Word Zendo
Hmmm. Hard work this one. Esteemed Master, knowing that the Buddha is fond of a tipple, would he prefer a carafe of wine to a single glass?

Re: Word Zendo
Mmmmm - Just wondering - is the mis-recognised Master (with a stick) more likely to enter a raffle than pick tickets in a tombolla?
Re: Word Zendo
Student SparkOut, you seem very confused today. In fact, the mere glass is preferred over the larger carafe.
But alas, student MBH - the Buddha clearly frowns on games of chance as neither the raffle nor the tombolla* are acceptable.
However, whilst the Buddha may not be acceptable, acceptable is acceptable.
*And, in order to forestall other comments, this master does not correct or otherwise adjust the students' spelling

Re: Word Zendo
I am indeed confused, Master. I shall strive to understand. Would the Buddha prefer a tabby cat over a Siamese? And is the Buddha himself a tubby version, or just skinny?
Re: Word Zendo
Student SparkOut, don't be too hard on yourself. For the Buddha does appreciate your gift of a tubby tabby, and would even like a skinny one, but frowns on the offering of a Siamese.
