I just googled Dr who collectables and this came up http://www.richardwho.com/

Discussing the problem with people on there might point her in the right direction.

I would suggest using another Excel spreadsheet which just takes all it's data from the bits you want them to see and doesn't reference the rest at all and send them that.
I do that at work where I have a master spreadsheet with a page for each country but I have separate files for the individual countries which just take their data from the master. And I send out the individual files to the relevant people

Hope that makes sense!

Not sure about the reference to a 'picture', but the usual technique I use is having a column (or more) of details that I don't want touchted - usually an intermediary calculation that I need elsewhere - then using "Hide Column", or the older form of changing "Column Width" to ZERO.

There are a couple of tell-tales for this method. The column lettering jumps, so if you hide column C then the lettering of the columns reads A,B,D,E,F. Also if the cells are referenced in another formula then that formula can be read and investigated (whereby they notice the column is missing).

I get round the first problem by hiding the column over the the rright of the usual working area - Column AA is good ;) There's not much can be done about people intelligent enough to read and understand the formulea using the hidden data.

You can take a screenshot of the spreadsheet by holding the Alt key down (to the left of the spacebar) and pressing the PrntScrn or Print Screen button, usually towards the right of the function key row.

That will put a copy of the window into the clipboard and you can then hold the Control key down and press V to paste it into the destination you need (eg your email - although it's usually better to paste it into a picture/graphic editor first, so that you can save it, and/or crop it).

That said, it would be better to do something as LAT says by (in the original spreadsheet) selecting all the items you want to show to the end user, and then in a new spreadsheet using the Edit menu to "Paste Special". You can then paste the values only (ie no formulae) and/or column widths etc. You can repeatedly "Paste Special" to copy the bits of information/formatting you want and leave out the stuff you don't.

Save the new spreadsheet and send that instead.

Ahh - good spot - I didn't realize that was what was meant - I thought the whole sheet needed to go but some not visible.

I've certainly used this technique before for quickly showing off how stuck I've been in puzzles

ok, another slightly odd question from me!

Does anyone have any idea how I can get hold of a copy of June's 'SHE' magazine? I don't normally buy magazines at all, but I saw this 2 days ago, and according to the front cover, there was an article I wanted to read, but I didn't have enough cash with me to get it. I went back today, and there is only July's issue. (I know I may not be well-versed in magazine buying, but it seems odd to get rid of June when we're only on the 18th).

I've tried a couple of other shops around here, and I can't find a June one, and I can't find an online version.

Any ideas?

Look in the current issue for a phone number sometimes the one on the subscription page will do and ask for the back copy you want. Last time I did this I got the magazine for free (it wasn't this mag).

Good idea, but they come in a plastic bag. I'd have to rip it. Anyone have an old copy, any issue, from which they could give me the phone number?

Try 0844 848 1601 or www.qualitymagazines.co.uk. They offer She subs so might be able to help.

Thanks for all your help. - because it is originally winforecast when i paste special it still allows the end receiver to open up all the other detail.

in the end i managed to select the sheet area, hold down the shift key and go to the edit option and it allows you to save as a picture.

regards

Thank you! I want the one with Dervla Kirwan on the front cover. (The Ballykissangel obsession is still raging!) If you do get it, just let me know how much money you want, and how to get it to you.

Well, it was in the shop this Tuesday evening, but by Friday morning it was the July issue. If you can then that would be great, but don't go to a whole load of trouble for me.

Does anyone know how to stop a carbon monoxide alarm beeping? It started last night just as I got into my bath  and has beeped three times a minute ever since. I think it is telling us that it is time to get it replaced but the beeping is driving me round the bend (not difficult I know). At the moment it is in my son's room under 4 thicknesses of duvet but I can still hear it when the TV isn't on.

Somehow I don't think we can just put it into the bin for the dustmen to take away. (beep beep beep...........beep beep beep......etc)

And before anyone wonders, my son is not at home at the moment, I wouldn't be that cruel.

Er... you're sure it isn't beeping because there is carbon monoxide present? :?

Does it still beep if you take it out in the fresh air?

Is there a battery you can remove? Failing that take a hammer to it... (After my problems with the smoke alarm last week you have my sympathies.)
