Thanks Tricia, some to ponder......particularly the one about fish blinking. Does that mean that all fish other than sharks go around winking at each other?
And the bit about sharks blinking with both eyes, surely if you do it with one eye it's not strictly speaking a blink, more of a wink?

Sounds blinking fishy to me...

*GROAN* @ Bunny
Thanks for those Tricia - I think I knew about a third of them as 'general knowledge', and regularly have my Word Processing students copy down "The quick brown fox....."
Now we know why there are big gaps in us hearing from Brian --- he's asleep
I think the one that surprised me the most was "Babies are born without kneecaps. "
I know they gain, lose, and re-gain teeth, but kneecaps seem pretty fundermantal to me.

Odd things, babies. They have holes in the tops of their heads too. That's where the horns poke through later when they become teenagers...
Mind you, my daughter (who was so impatient that she felt it necessary to be born almost 2 months early) had not only the normal fontanelle but came out with a head looking like a police helmet (premature babies' skulls sort of slide over themselves and "mould". Fortunately, that only lasted a couple of hours!!

Not everyone finds their way round to CBBC, and I only know this one because someone else heard about it - but for those of us that known this lady for a lot of years here is a tribute to Elisabeth Sladen

Obviously a well loved woman by those who worked with her - and a sad loss.

A very nice bit of scheduling magic there too - they were able to broadcast it between the end of the Doctor Who episode on BBC1 and the start of the behind-the-scenes documentary about the episode on BBC3 because of an entertaining quirk in the way the channels work (CBBC and BBC3 use the same "slot", one channel basically runs 7am to 7pm, and the other from 7pm to 7am.) And yes, it was a lovely obituary/tribute.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Re: Listen Again - things we might want to share
I sent a dedication to Paul O grady a couple of weeks ago for my best friend and forgot to tell her about it (and I forgot about it too). It was played on Sunday and the world and his wife has phoned me today to find out if it was me
I hope Iplayer is working.
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.
