actually i like the sound of a out door cooked Christmas every one gathered round a roaring fire
Thats exactly what we have plannned!!! Those of us brave enough to spend xmas in caravans or chalets in Withernsea are doing just that. If it freezes like last year, no water and no chance. History says no phones and no net anyway so peace perfect peace.
Otherwise its a gathering of like minded people, pub first and barbeque afterwards.

Sounds wonderful. I'm being forced by my tradition-loving children to do turkey and 10 different vegetables. Great.

Consider it a compliment!
They obviously like what you do/how you do it so much that Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without it.
Heck, now I've mentioned the C word.

Back in the days when I had a life, it was a regular event that we'd have a barbecue on the beach on Boxing Day. We've never gone as far as a Christmas Day al fresco though. However, if we emigrated to the Southern Hemisphere, that would be a definite preference as far as I'm concerned. (Not that that is happening!)

We will have trouble giving her back but we must. The kitten needs another cat to play with and Poppy really doesn't want to!

She will go to a good home.

The kitten went at lunchtime to a home that had her sister. Within a few minutes they were chasing each other and wrestling. We won't be fostering again! Too upsetting!

We loved having her, she was so cute, but Poppy is very relaxed now!

I've still got my Mum's poor cat living at her house on his own. Poor old puss. But I have him on loads of waiting lists for re homing, and nothing's happening. I couldn't have him here (Phoebe's a total head case and jumps on cats (and badgers) twice her size.)
It must be upsetting to have to give a kitten back though. I wouldn't like to do that.

Oh poor puss.

He must be so lonely. I wish we could have him but I'm not sure how our two would react. (Or if we really want three cats in any case

)

Oh, just the one is plenty for me. But she's a bit full-on. I couldn't cope with more than one cat jumping from the top of my wardrobe onto my legs in the middle of the night, and bringing in live mice and birds...

I'm almost slightly disappointed that mine doesn't bring in mice and birds... (I did say "almost"!)

I've just ordered a French Horn!
It won't come until January, so a bit of a wait to see what it sounds like. I'm a bit nervous about it because it wasn't very expensive (as horns go) but if it's no good you can send it back within 14 days. (so fingers crossed)

Hope your neighbours aren't too nearby (or are very understanding...)

It can get quite loud here sometimes with drumming, electric guitars and saxophone. It's probably a good job one of our neighbours is deaf!!

The other side (attached side) AREN'T deaf, but their 6 year old is about as loud as a saxophone anyway, so they can't complain...

For some reason, Flanders & Swann come to mind.

Is it a good job that I can't get on youtube?

one of my favourites that. Just wish I could listen to that Mozart without wanting to sing along...

Yes, absolutely! I first heard it in school in a music lesson, and instantly knew a lot of the words, just because they stuck in my head. It also made me buy the Flanders and Swann CD, so I now know the lyrics to a whole load of other songs that go round and round until they drive you barmy!!!
Having said that, it is brilliant - you'd be missing out if you never heard it. Lyrical genius! (The musical credit has to go to Mozart really.)
