Re: My Christmas
Most of the things on my tree have sentimental value to me. Two are very valuable to me - they are dolls made of wool. My dad made them for me. I dont like perfect trees. Trees decorations to me should represent happy times and good memories.

Yes, I quite agree. Until last year we still had snowmen made of salt dough the children had made when they were in nursery school!

I love it!
My Leah makes Carmen brilliant stuff from salt dough. She even made her a little sign saying Carmen's kitchen because she has a toy kitchen. When we go to Leah's carmen makes us a cup of tea and gives it to us with a plastic potato on a plate

Yeah, it's actually better than anything I could produce
Re: My Christmas
Our tree got decorated with tomatoes this year.
Yep. Tomatoes. They were on the windowsill waiting to ripen, and my barmy sisters (who are doubly crackers when they get together) decided that it would be funny to put them all over the tree and wait to see who would notice. They found it so amusing that they couldn't wait and had to show everyone and take pictures. We still keep finding some in the water at the bottom.

Re: My Christmas
I bet that looked really pretty!
I saw a thing about making door wreaths which used fruit to decorate it - the idea being that the birds would eat it afterwards. I did make one, but not with fruit, because our front door is in the porch so the birds wouldn't go in there unless they were mental...

Re: My Christmas
My tree isn't dead. I haven't had a "real" Christmas tree in years. Mine is whatever the florist has in stock when the old one goes out to be planted. I hate the thought of killing a tree just so the house can look pretty at Christmas. I think this years is a Japanese Yew, but I'm not sure.
This year Santa dumped silly bands all over the tree-which of course is loaded with ornaments the bug has made over the years-loosing their glitter and stars and what not, but I just can't bear to get rid of them.
There are a bunch of photos of her at 12:30 am Christmas morning when she snuck out to see what Santa left her.
Ugly tree and all.
