Dear Mr Optimist, Mr Pessimist and Mr Realist, While you were arguing about the glass of water, I drank it! Yours sincerely, Mr Opportunist.

It'll take a while to get back to normal.
I'm already laughing when thinking about rehearsals for The Mikado, with all the other girls tripping along singing 'Comes a train of little ladies' - and me following up in the rear lurching like Frankenstein's monster

good to hear that, dramaticat. (about being released from hospital, not lurching like frankenstein's monster )
Perseverance: - the courage to ignore the obvious wisdom and carry on anyway
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Just got back from the theatre where we saw the NT production of Hamlet. It was pretty long but really good

The rotten bunch.... the least they could have done to show Sisterly solidarity would have been to walk the same way as YOU. Anyway - good to hear you're back in the swing of things and also taking care of yourself.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Had a disaster at work today. Put some coffee in an insulated mug put the lid on supposedly. Put cup to lips and Hey presto all down the front of my top. After a quick clear up Im in the ladies Loo trying to dry my top under the hand drier Did not dare moving away from my desk again unless I had something held in front of me. So at lunch time it was a quick dash into town to buy a new top!
You would think at my age I would at least manage to put a lid on the blessed cup. I knocked it over a second time but this time with no spillage I normally dont drink coffee at work - usually just waterm Maybe I'll just stick to water next time

Sorry this was posted on the wrong site - I'm having a bad day - I'm not doing anything right. I even left the puzzle mag at work

I'll take double-meanings... Clvrlad has spelling all to himself... There may be a scrap over punctuation.... then everyone else can pile in
Poor Tricia - sounds like you've having a right time of it. I have days like that [heck I have weeks like that sometimes]

SHAKESPEARE PUZZLE BRIBE.
I was a bit disappointed that actually never happened - I could have been rich beyond my wildest dreams...
This time I didn't wet myself on entry because I wasn't forced to follow a certain gentleman who was having his bag searched and KNOWING there were pink fluffy rabbit ears in there...

and unfortunately my photo of the headline didn't come out - the screen reflected back too much light.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Feeling a bit miserable because I was all set for a little walk down to the butchers this morning - but it's tipping it down with rain. I wouldn't want to go out in this even if everything worked properly!
However, I did negotiate the shower for the first time in two and a half months! (Just to explain, there is a step up into the shower of about 10 inches and I've been too incapacitated/scared to try before now - particularly after last weekend when I had a bath and nearly got stuck in it!) (And to lay any fears to rest, I have been washing during the last two and a half months, just not in the shower )

I have also been out for lunch today - we went up to Cambridge to meet our daughter. And I'm now watching the rugby. So a similar day. But I haven't been looking for wallpaper.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Going to Bekonscot model village with family, then for lunch. Model village is so lovely - it's trapped in a 1930 something time warp and has considerable charm. It's all the little things which make it. Like the shop names such as "Chris P Lettis Greengrocer", "Lee Key Plumbers' Merchants " etc. And things like the little man on the ladder which is wobbling away from the house - and a man underneath him with a bucket of paint on his head! The choir is still to be heard singing away in the church, and the Women's Institute are still making jam.
Oh, and there was the birthday cake...(this isn't a very good picture of it, sorry). Apparently the ovipositor wasn't long enough..

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
This was cake number two. The first one (for the Friday, when we had people here and K made 8 giant home made pizzas) was a giant lemon cake.

Where did you get the giant lemons from?
