I went for a lovely walk in Ashridge today. It was wall to wall bluebells. I've never seen so many bluebells in my entire life. The smell was overpowering!

.....Spring-cleaning, moving things round, making up beds (and a cot bed :D :D ) and generally clearing space ready for an invasion tomorrow from the family...... Can't wait to see how Thomas has grown and whether he might even vaguely remember us from his visit way back at Christmas
Then looking forward to taking him down to the beach in all this sunshine to try out his very first bucket and spade.

......cooking

My daughter is home and I made the mistake of asking her if she had any requests for meals. She has given up convenience food and anything packaged for lent so I made Thai fishcakes for lunch and a curry meal this evening - chicken Dhansak, auberine puree and a mixed vegetable curry. The kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it!

Then we all sat down to watch Toy Story 3 - and all cried too.

Happy Easter all! I hope you have a lovely holiday and don't get woken up with shouts of joy from a young one (or in your case wulfuna, I'm sure that will be heavenly)

The Easter bunny didn't leave a basket full of treats, instead, he left a note that said we had an egg hunt with a variety of decoding techniques listed. The first one was in morse code and told the bug to get some eggs out of the refrigerator and...
She then found a windup chick in the frying pan with a note written with a simple number/letter substitution that sent her to her bedroom...
Where she found a giant chocolate egg, something about being afraid of bears, and the bathroom. This led to a pigpen and when she read balcony, she was off and running.

All that work for only partial decoding. I felt sorry for the bunny. But I'm sure he watched the bugs squeals of delight and was happy anyway. As for me, 6 am is just a tad bit too early.

Don't eat too much chocolate before breakfast! Save some room for jelly beans

got back this afternoon after being in Somerset to celebrate my dads 90th birthday yesterday most of the family were there just my neice and her family absent as they were heading off to Cuba on holiday. It certainly brightened dads day to see 4 generations together.

 Puncture his tyres Strep!

I've been out for a nice walk in the countryside (only about 7 miles today and with a pub in the middle!). The hedgerows are so pretty - bluebells, dandelions, forget-me-nots, celandines. We could hear yellowhammers "little bit of bread and no cheese", skylarks, chiff-chaffs, and lots of great tits ("tea-cher tea-cher") and saw a red kite soaring just above us. :D It was such a beautiful day and wonderful wildlife and scenery. The sky a really bright blue against the green of the fields. Just lovely.

Strep, please ignore this sudden violent streak - our gentle Bunny has obviously been taken over by the curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Who knows.... the next thing you know she might even be threatening to beat up a certain jester...... :o
