Just don't tickle them whilst they are asleep.

I've got it sorted. They were actually helpful this time, the only downside being the length of time I spent on hold.

Finishing off my latest Open University essay. It's been like pulling teeth - and made worse by the fact I need to get it in a week early because I'm on holiday next week.

I'm quite disappointed with this course. It lives up to its claims of exploring all sorts of musical styles from around the world, but all the essays have been firmly on Western art music. It may have been just as challenging to write about Inuit throat-singing, but probably more interesting than Schubert, Bizet, Byrd, Handel and Wagner :D

I know what you mean. My daughter did a music degree but the vast majority of her essays were on the "standard" stuff. Although she did get to play some weird and wonderful things (like a Javanese gamalan). They were given lots of freedom on their choices if they chose performance as their major though. I remember watching some boys doing "modern alternative" music, which appeared to involve coming in and out of the room and hitting random objects with things!!!

Anyway after possibly the most rubbish day ever, the dragon I mentioned came and apologised for quote "coming into the exam room and having a tantrum". Mind you, she only did that because she'd been roasted. (One of these days she WILL learn not to mess with me!!) The thing is that she's so scary and is such a big bully that nobody else stands up to her or complains when she's unreasonable and bombastic. But I do and I will continue to do so. So there. I wouldn't let kids bully other kids so I won't let an adult who should know better bully me either. :D

Today I are mostly bin makin' my next door neighbour happy. I have been doing up an old motor bike he had languishing in his shed for the past 5 years. He has been on holiday for the last two weeks and got back late today. What he didn't know is that in the two weeks he has been away I have pushed the boat out, finished the restoration of the bike and got it through it's MOT yesterday. I posted the MOT certificate to him last night. So, when he came to open his post this evening he got a nice surprise. I know this probably sounds awfully self centrered but it's just nice to do someone a favour every now and then I think.

He had better pay up in lots of bottles of red though.

On the suject of bullys, I agree with the Bunny. Anyone tried bullying me, or anyone around me for that matter, and I'd introduce them to Mr 3 foot socket wrench. It would be an introduction I'm sure they wouldn't forget in a hurry.  Nope, I simply can't abide anything even along the vaguest lines of bullying.

Cheers. BB.

That's really lovely. Gives you a warm glow to surprise someone with something nice doesn't it.

Our neighbour was thrilled to find her tree cut back (she has LOADS more light in her garden now) and now we've dealt with the hedge too you can walk up her garden path as well. She's 80 and can't do it herself. You'd think my husband was some kind of superhero if you heard her! (Don't think the fact I cleared up several tons of logs and spent two hours with the long handled loppers got a mention mind...) Anyway, BB, would you like to come and move next door to my Mum's house at all? There's a car in need of major work, and a whole garage and two sheds full of mysterious machinery for you to play with!! Oh yeah, and a house in need of major structural work. You know how you love to do all that...

Oh, the usual. You know, flamethrowers, chain saws, machetes, wrecking balls, anti snake venom medicine, protective clothing, masks, and of course your sarnies. Better take out life insurance too.

I'll bring my flamethrower. I don't have a wrecking ball we usually use F and a sledgehammer.

I just use my son with no sledgehammer. He's capable of wrecking things just by being clumsy and / or being a twit.. But most usually both. Unfortunately he doesn't get up until about 4pm, so he can only wreck things nocturnally.

Let's put it this way. My brother was round the other day and now has a patch on his leg with no nerve endings on it. (Some unidentified toxic substance.)

Oh, that wasn't his fault. That was because he had started to clear out the garage. That was my DAD. Can't remember if I said, but when we were talking about clearing out the garage and the sheds, he said "well, we will have to be very careful when we are disposing of the dangerous chemicals and the asbestos. Of course, the chemicals might be rather difficult to identify because I don't think I managed to label them all..."
