Visited OH for the 30mins I was allowed this evening. He's making good use of his morphine pump! He said he was chatting to the surgeon during the op   and was doing fine until the epidural wore off.

....Just tried to book tickets for HP and deathly hallows part 2 online. We told Lally we would take a bunch of her friends to celebrate her birthday, with family and her friends I was after 12 tickets. I went online, found a 2D showing and then found 75% of the seats are unbookable (all the 3D seats seem to be bookable, but I was after 2D, clearly trying to force us into 3D) and it won't let me book more than 9 seats at a time, and it wants 75p per ticket booking fee. I gave up, and will go down to the cinema later and try to do it face to face.

... recovering from yesterday. Took Sigur to Wales on a half-day Rally driving course that we got him for his birthday last year. Absolutely fab day. He got to drive round a short rally lap, learn how to do handbrake turns, timed laps etc. The instructor demonstrated the handbrake turns first - after suggesting I might like to sit in with him while he did it... he also took everyone (including me) round the course to show how it should be done at the end.
After this we found a really nice pub (The Talbot Hotel in Berriew) which, not only did real ale, but did the most gorgeous fillet steaks (21 day hung welsh beef).
So all in all a really good day.

Sounds great Eirian, I shall have to investigate that pub, sounds like it's not too far from us.

Been and bought tickets, nearly drowned as the heavens suddenly opened in a major way and we had to swimm across a 3 foot deep puddle to get to the cinema. Sales clerk was very excited as she didn't realise tickets were on sale yet and the film comes out on her birthday! She persuaded me to go in for a loyalty card and I have apparently earned myself enough points for two free tickets. :D The young elephant is now designing some invitations.

That sounds like a great day out, Eirian. Glad it all went well. :D I can do handbrake turns already. I learned to do them when I was a young tearaway who drove like a headcase.  We used to go to an old airfield and wreck the tyres on the car...

He keeps moaning about the food being tasteless and inedible. I've asked him what he fancies to eat and I'll bring it if possible and then he tells me he's not hungry and doesn't fancy anything.

Had to rearrange my plans for the last few days of my holiday - I was going to try and book a show in London and stay overnight. I am now catering for a 90th Birthday party . The Birthday girl is still working and we are planning an open day at her home for the staff at her office. Yvonne has no family so its going to be all her friends - so I shall be making Quiches, Vol au vonts, cheese cakes etc. I have already organised a day trip to Bruge from Folkestone - so that will be exciting. What I neeed to do now is try and find some of the major changes which have occured in her lifetime and put something together.

I don't think I'll EVER be able to retire. But the good news is that I will be able to threaten naughty children with my incontinence pads then.
