No, but it is a danger when you try to clamber across from the driver's seat when you're as inflexible as I am and have annoyingly long legs to manoeuvre past the steering wheel.

Well, you never know...
No, they are a total pain. You try getting trousers and especially tights long enough. At least you can chop a bit off the bottom!! I think that's why Dibble is so skyscraperish. He got the legs from me and the back from OH. OH is 6 foot 1 and has shorter legs than I do!! We are a family of mutants.

That's because the legs were under the table...(kicking Looby because she was being naughty as usual!)

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Wanting to throttle my son. He was supposed to be travelling to Honiton today for a uni friend's birthday, and camping for a few days. He bought his train ticket (using his student card) online (£30 return). His train was supposed to leave at 1 50 from the main station, which is a couple of miles from us, right through the town centre, and takes up to 20 mins.
At 12 O clock, I asked him "have you packed yet?"
"No. Stop nagging. I can do it myself."
12 30 "Have you found a sleeping bag yet? I'm pretty sure you threw yours out!"
"I'll look in the loft in a minute. Stop going on."
1pm and he is frantically scrabbling around in the loft (which is unlined and unboarded, and therefore filthy).
"This sleeping bag smells horrible, mum. Can I wash it?"
"We need to leave the house in 30 minutes, I hardly think so. Have you checked you have everything - tickets etc?"
"Yes. I'm not stupid you know. And I am 21, not 5."
1.35 I am to be found sitting in my car outside our house, engine on, while he tries to find his shoes. Having found the shoes, he is putting them on in the car as I am driving, at break neck speed, so he doesn't miss the train.
1 50 Phone call from son. "Mum, I've forgotten my travel card, so they won't honour the ticket."
So, frantic scrabbling about the house for me trying to imagine where he might have put it. Couldn't find it. Drove to station, picked him up and brought him home. Where was it? Behind his telly. (Obvious, really ).
SO, I have ended up having to pay for him to buy a last minute single fare to Honiton (£38), and drive him to another station. Meanwhile, his long suffering girlfriend got on the intended train, and will have to wait for him in Honiton for nearly 2 hours. Just before we left I also ascertained that he hadn't got a towel packed either.
All I can say is, I am SO glad he is so sensible and organised and responsible at 21. And this is one of our "bright young things" who is about to start a research Masters?? Terrifying, isn't it?

Oh there's no hope!
We have spent most of today helping my son move into a house in London which he is sharing with a couple of friends. Had a dreadful journey in London each way but at least we managed it before it started raining.
Just got a text from him to say he'd forgotten to take his stuff from the bathroom! But he has managed to buy 3 toothbrushes for 51p in Lidl

He was robbed!! I can get 4 toothbrushes for 20p Not sure how much good they do to teeth but they come in handy for lots of other things. And always handy for spares. Shall I go and buy a job lot?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I think he's sorted now thanks!
Luckily he needed new toothpaste and deoderant so I'd bought him some and put them in with a box of other starter goodies for him.
It's all go in our family at the mo as my daughter is moving on Monday evening. But she is doing that herself as it is just from one house share in Cambridge to another.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I love the goodie bag idea and you can take it so much further when it's a dire need.
An old friend of mine decided to rent herself a house and leave her partner the next day -and she had absolutely zilch to put into the unfurnished house she'd rented.
I made her up a bin bag. I went around my entire house and absolutely anything I thought she might need went into it. Pen paper,- mug plate pan bowl. Any ends of cleaning bottles I had if I had a new one ready and waiting. A towel, dish cloth, absolutely anything we take for granted. Then I started ringing folks up and asking what they had to spare. By the end of the next day she had beds, sofas and furniture coming out of her ears. Tv's in abundance and she even got an ironing machine!!!

.... thinking that we all need to send congrats to a certain someone on here!!!
I never go on face book but I just did. If its meant to be about what I think that post is about then I'm absolutely delighted for you. You know who you are but I'm saying nothing.... I won't steal your thunder. I have enough in my own garden right now (The real thunder that is ) And as for the double chocolate chip cookies, I'm sure you'll have a virtual case load on the way. Mine is on its way now.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Well, I'm confused. But nothing new there.
Just got back from another 60th birthday party. This is becoming alarmingly regular. I'm quite jealous though - Keith's wife and family had clubbed together to buy him a trip to Barcelona, and tickets to see Elbow there.
