A big welcome back to Biscuit, and the best of luck to you from this end of the country.

I'm suspecting it's because we married the wrong fellow and have no choice in the matter

Today I've bin doing a Zumba class with a new teacher - buying and then laying a dozen paving slabs in the garden - and walking Maisie... I think I've done my exercise for the day week :D

 My fellow doesn't work a 50 hour week either. And I keep telling him to take more time off, but he won't. What I meant was that I see the necessity to work to support yourself, but obviously Biscuit has reached a stage where she can afford to work fewer hours, so good on her, I say. And trust me, when I do work for the other four days, I work FLAT OUT. The minute my feet hit the floor at work I start, and don't stop, often not even for lunch, until the end of the day. No relaxing "Hello, how are you, did you have a good weekend?" for me, I'm afraid. :( No way could I do that 5 days a week all year round AND run the house, I'd have a breakdown.

So that's why I didn't spot you in the crowd...... But it must have been worth catching a glimpse of the real thing. I have been trying to avoid all the silly fuss going on, but have to admit that this was something a bit special. One of the fun bits on the tele was seeing the Queen giggling with delight and pointing things out to the others. It was her party, after all......

After meeting with the estate agent with Kaa eyes with my Dad and Brother, I took my Dad back to Essex again, having identified yet more asbestos and mercury in the shed. (By the way, if anyone wants about 350 knobs for obsolete scientific ovens, a giant lathe bed without the lathe or an extremely dangerous home made band saw without a guard, I'm your girl! ) Still, it was nice to see him and he appears to now be on the mend after his recent accident.

Anyway, after that we had a walk along the canal, past the latest new million pound bridge, which was the company in charge of the latest massive housing development's idea of "something for the community" - which is only of any possible use for the people who will live in their new houses. Anyway, I digress. We walked to a friend's house who was doing a Marie Curie charity tea party. She has a lovely garden, which we managed to sit in briefly before we all started to freeze. But it was a really nice afternoon (even if I did have to engage in small talk, which I'm hopeless at!! Still, lots of money was raised for charity and the cakes were very fine. :D :D

Going to Chiltern Open Air Museum, with a certain Jester. It was an interesting place to visit, and we had fun making a barn (albeit a small one!!) and I got to dress up in an RAF uniform and great coat. We even managed to dodge the rain drops. :D

Even more scary, I think he has a photo of it!! (He'll probably be printing it out as we speak and attaching it to his dart board...)

......having a lovely lunch with Bunnylump, and nattering a lot!

Don't go to any trouble I said. I'll do a sandwich or some salad she said. That sounds perfect I said. So what do I get? A massive selection of wonderful salads, meat, prawns, cheeses etc - including hot goats cheese. Yum! :D

And the M25 wasn't too bad, although the spray was a pain and I thought I was going to get blown away at times on the way home.

I think he's still recovering from the shock of seeing me wearing the uniform.

 Rather a shame about the cropped trousers on the bottom, really. To be honest, the hat fitted Scurra a lot better than it fitted me (I have a big head!) Unfortunately I didn't get a photo.

Seriously, if anyone is nearby this museum, it's worth a visit. It's outside (as the name suggests) and is basically a load of reconstructed houses from different eras.

Agreed - and what a good photo of her lovely smile :)

Sounds like a lot of min-meets going on for those 'down South' Glad you're having a good time though ;)

Well, I have you scheduled in for tomorrow, MBH. What about it?? Actually, it's a real shame you're so far away. :( I've just booked a holiday to Northumberland in the summer though, so I'll get to see Geordieland for myself. It'd better be good, or I'll be after you for a refund...

I wish that were true (about tomorrow). I've actually got the day off to 'do stuff' but I'm full of some sort of bug and would not be great company.

Holiday in Northumberland? I look forward to hearing more on that :) Lovely countryside and as long as you take the weather as you find it - a great place to visit. [You and Northumberland - I'm thinking castles :D]
