Thank you all. I apologise to all you football fans, but my son loves Newcastle and it was his choice to put the poor little soul in this suit. I have given her the Childline number

Sorry it is so big, Scurra feel free to re-size it or I will take it down, just let me know.

Awww!! :D And there is the culmiation to my gooey, sweet day. Lovely baby news (Paul at work had a little girl too), and then I went to visit my friend's new 10 week old kitten today...

Aaaah!! :D

...Feeling very glad that it wasn't this weekend I chose to visit Malmesbury...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-20484386

Is anyone having problems with floods? We live on a hill, so haven't been affected, but there are quite a few local roads flooded (as we discovered today when we tried to go for a walk, couldn't get across the flooded fields, so tried to walk down the lanes. Bad move, we had to wade... )

Belated congratulations to our newest Grandma :D :D . Thanks for the picture!
I happened to be in Exeter today (Christmas shopping ;) ) which reminded me of when we met up there for a bit of joint puzzle-solving :o . But I guess that at the moment you might be otherwise occupied

Here in Exmouth we seem to have escaped the flooding, thank goodness - although it's just as well that my scheduled trip to London is not until next week, as the railway is still cut off :( . There is just one short stretch North of Exeter where the river runs right alongside the line - I can't understand why they haven't put extra flood defenses there long since now as the water often laps up very close. I remember coming down there about a year ago and seeing a group of cows stranded on an island of grass in the middle of a field!

It made me laugh as I was driving to work - there was a horrible new "trendy" estate built where the old paper mill used to be, next to the canal, which had a huge advertising hoarding which said
"Deluxe Waterside Living"
And the floodwater was lapping right up to the sign...

Talking to myself again, I see...

...1. The mystery of the missing aubergine.

I had half an aubergine left over from last night, which I had earmarked for a roasted vegetable dish today. It was there this morning, when I left the house at 7 45am. When I got in, I went to chop it up and...it's disappeared!! So either there is a phantom aubergine thief who has sneaked into my house during the day...OR I have totally lost the plot and put it somewhere crazy in a senior moment. I've searched the house for it, to no avail. I'm really worried that I will find a rotting aubergine in my knicker drawer in a month's time or something...am I losing the plot???

...2. Been shopping to Watford with K this evening. We went in her boyfriend's MX5, which is so low down I had trouble getting in and out of it. Talk about terrifying ride!! Although it did make me laugh, when we tried to get out of the car park, she couldn't reach the ticket machine, and had to get right out of the car to make the barrier lift! Not a cool look!!! The whole experience (including the horror of being in a shopping centre at 9pm) made me feel about 108...

I'm with Clvrlad!

... looking after a poorly boy. (Or rather, Sigur has been looking after him while I've just been worrying about him at work). He's got really swollen glands (inc a tonsil) as well as hand, foot & mouth (which isn't related to Foot & Mouth before you ask!), so he's feeling v.miserable and on lots of medicine.
However, it hasn't stopped him learning how to open up my internet browser, find ebay, and type 'toys' in the search bar... good job I don't leave myself logged in or who knows what he would have bought!

They did well with the cake, didn't they? Someone tried to commission them to make one for their friend's 50th birthday!

Congratulations Strep on your new Grandaughter :) I'm late in the message but at least it is here before she was DUE

As a non-football fan I think the zebra outfit looks good on her (fits in well with our giraffes, elephants, etc)

Great cake Bunny :) Almost a shame to eat it..... ALMOST

I found out about Fascinating Aida when someone suggested I look up "Cheap Flights" on Youtube - this led to more clicking and streams of tears of laughter :D NOT for the easily offended.

Trying desperately to get some enthusiasm / ideas as to what to get everyone for Christmas. Tomorrow is the big Christmas shop blitz. Anyone got any ideas for what to buy 21 - 26 year old boys??
