How many events did he win altogether then? I thought he'd just be in the sprints 8-)

 Sloppy English  Blame it on me being really tired after a long day.

He did also do a ride round the stadium on a sort of rocket which was quite an event in itself. 8-)

Sounds fab, LAT, glad you enjoyed yourself!! I've bin starting the mammoth task of making bunting. I finally worked out how to use the sewing machine I bought about six months ago!! I've made 75 so far...

Also did the first barbecue of the year - as usual I so massively overcatered I could probably have invited the entire forum along and fed everyone comfortably!

Well I didn't think either the barbecue or the bunting was so bad it needed burning, but hey ho! Trying to get ahead of myself while I have time during the summer in preparation for K's wedding next April. As she wants about 100 metres of it, I thought I'd better get started... She also has a crazy idea about having hand made invitations, also with miniature bunting hanging on the front...

Sorry. The kindle keeps correcting my spelling even when I don't want it to.

It's getting quite popular at the moment!!! Top Gear a couple of weeks ago, the Channel 5 series that you mentioned, New Tricks - and Michael Portillo has filmed one of his train journey things starting in Gib (not that we have trains in Gib) to be shown later in the year.......not bad for a very small place.....

...To London for the day. Did lots of hideously terrifying things like going on trains, tubes (one of which temporarily broke down with us on it) and this...
Image Obviously I couldn't look at the view (because I was in flat out panic and feeling like being sick) But I was proud of myself for getting on it and not spoiling everyone else's day...

We also had a trip on a river boat and a visit to the little bit of the Olympic Park that is currently open. Oh, and a nice Mexican lunch. It was BOILING. I just got home and went straight away and had a cold bath!!

At work, then arrived home whereupon my son ran out to the car and said "Mum's just got a message on Facebook from" Pumpkin.
She's in The Loft hostel in Chengdu where they have computer access for 1Y for half an hour (about 20p she said) and it's (apparently) the only/one of few places in China where Facebook and Skype are accessible without hindrance. We then had a brief exchange via Facebook messages and then managed to get connected via Skype, but only where she could see us, but neither hear us nor us to be able to see or hear her.
She's having a great time, been to see Giant Pandas today!

How exciting for you! :D And reassuring too. But either you work very odd hours or Pumpkin was up very late or very early.

We didn't have a problem getting through on Skype when K was in Shanghai but I don't think she managed to do much on Facebook while she was there. (mind you I wouldn't know as I'm not one of her Facebook 'friends' )
Sometimes she had issues with G-mail but most of the time it worked fine. She opened up a Yahoo e-mail account before she went for just such eventualities so that we had an alternative way to contact her. And of course, the first time we chatted on Skype I inadvertently clicked the wrong button so we could see her but she couldn't see us.

Glad Pumpkin is having a good time. :D

Both really. Yes she was up pretty late, but I work all sorts of times in all sorts of places. Which is lots better than it used to be.

...Travelling (back from Italy- complete with injuries...details to follow!!)

Got back (having had two hours sleep) to find Dibble here, who has invited his girlfriend and friend to stay, and they are "cooking" in the kitchen as we speak (!)

It's good to have you both back. It's been very quiet here recently.

Hope the injuries aren't too serious Bunny.

I had a fun day yesterday. K had set off Friday evening for the New Forest where she was to be a bridesmaid for an old school friend at her wedding yesterday. 11pm Friday evening (while we had friends here for supper) the phone goes - "I think I've done something very silly, is the dress still in my room?". This all caused great amusement for our friends who obviously only heard half the phone conversation. So yesterday I set off for Ringwood with the bridesmaid's dress and met them at the hairdressers to hand it over. Then I came home again!

...Currently sitting in Dibble's flat, waiting for him and D to come back. We came here, at a moment's notice, to help him move flat (from Tuffnell Park to Bethnal Green). When we got here...had he packed? No. Had the cleaned the place? No. Had he volunteered us to take some of his flatmates' stuff too? Yes. I've only got some clothes and things to take says he. He's neglected to mention the two guitars and amp, television, giant dirty washing basket, desk, bike and lord knows what else paraphenalia. (Sorry using his Mac so don't know how to find punctuation and spellcheck!!) So the two of them have gone with one car load and I'm currently siting here having sorted out mountains more to take and cleaned the flat. I've just discovered a freezer full of stuff too.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

......busy being Grandma :D - well, all this week, actually, which is why I haven't been doing much puzzling
On the other hand, I am now expert at Thomas the Tank Engine stories and Going on a Bear Hunt....
Mummy and Daddy were able to go off and have a day to themselves today while Thomas helped Grandad with the shopping and then watering all the flower pots - he's getting really good at that although some of the water does get in some odd places......

K and A couldn't get home from their holiday in Greece yesterday because the plane was "broken"! So now waiting for the call to go and get her from Gatwick. That's one way to spend your wedding anniversary...
