I seem to have missed a lot. Hopefully I'll be able to be around a bit more. My last year has just been one family problem after another. They are still ongoing but are now manageable. It looks like a lot of congratulations are in order. I love the little girl. She's gorgeous. One of the highlights of last year was the birth of the first girl into my husband's family for 25 years. His mother at last has a great grand-daughter after 5 boys.
So congrats to all who are getting engaged, married, born etc.

Yes, I thought you two would be intrigued to discover that about your grandma's little sister! Maybe that explains why she also liked puzzles, especially crosswords (which I knew from visits to them which revealed our common interest) - "cryptics" were clearly no problem

Lots of happy news, cograts to all.
Now we know where scurra gets his puzzling from.

...Entertaining!! Decided to do a mass birthday party to introduce my new Great Niece to her Great Grampy, plus also celebrate my niece's birthday, my son's birthday and my birthday.
It was lovely, but I'm cream crackered!!
Bit daunted to be also running a hen party extravaganza here in two weeks' time!!

...Wondering if I have it in me to hand paint 24 cocktail glasses..!
P.S. Does anyone know anywhere that sells oblong pizza bases?

I have seen oblong pizza in Asda, probably already with at least tomato sauce and cheese on them. (You could customise them) They do have a counter that makes pizzas to order, but they probably only do the round ones. If I were closer I would offer to make them in the bread machine for you.

Ah, now there's an idea, thank you. I didn't think of Asda (because it's right in the town centre and a pain to get to I never think to go there.) I'll try them. I just want to be able to fit multiple pizzas in the oven at the same time and rectangular would fit better.

You could get them the optimum size for your oven then too.

Oh, don't you worry, the whole reason I am getting pizza stuff (and cupcake stuff, and cocktail stuff) is so that they can make everything they eat and drink themselves.
And hopefully they'll make some for me too.

... Writing out music for rainbow bells (Singing in the rain / The Wheels on the Bus / Doe a Deer / Whistle While you Work.) You know, all pretty standard behaviour for hen nights.

I'm sure they will love it
One of the best hen parties I went to - related to a wedding where the service was going to be conducted in Welsh. For the non Welsh speaking members of the hen party (all of us bar the bride!!!) we spent a fair bit of time at the hen party being taught how to sing the welsh hymns that were going to be used at the wedding service - we hadnt a clue what we were singing..... but we went down a storm at the wedding!!

I think the whole day sounds great fun. If I got remarried I wonder if Bunnylump would organise my hen do!
Today I have spent a very pleasant day at Wisley.

Glad you had a nice time.
I've mostly bin...cleaning. Sorting the garden out. Painting. Shopping. Knackered.
You know when you do that thing...that stupid thing, when you try to clean a dirty mark off the ceiling? And then realise that you have unearthed the true horror of your kitchen ceiling, and have to clean the whole damned thing?
Still, at least the weather APPEARS to be going to behave itself tomorrow - mind you , the games lesson appears to have been somewhat scuppered because the basketball net on a pole decided that today was the day to break.
