Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

case of coke? You know him well, just remember to put some chocolate in with it and he'll be in heaven!gill216 wrote:Scurra is nearest, Case of coke do you????

And yes, I remember when I was investigating the price of houses in Devon, in case we decided to move closer to Wulf, and I found this type of property. Just couldn't believe it. Of course, there are the restrictions on usage (eg can't live in it all year round), but still!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
... getting ready for the end of an era. We're having a restructure here at work and our team, who have been together for close to 10 years, are all being split up. So we're going out for a team meal tonight.
I'm quite excited about the challenge (will be leading my own team of admin), but I think my current team leader is really going to miss us all - she's only keeping 2 out of 6, and they'll be sitting in the other half of the office (it's 2 linked rooms).
Oh well, I guess I'm packing all my stuff up this afternoon, as I'm off down to see Wulf and pick up Thomas next week, and we move the Monday I get back (hopefully, although given that this is the Council, something will probably happen to delay it)

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
It was £12k. Only for a quick sale. The one up the street sold last week for 38.5K.
Cant believe I was in the right place at the right time.
Eirean, It comes with a postal address, pay council tax etc and while the estate has an eleven month licence , for the grand sum of £240 per year it transforms to 12 months. So yes, I can live in it all year round.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
...Wondering why I am so UTTERLY useless at packing. Do I REALLY need 30 pairs of knickers to take away? And yes, it is probably going to rain for the entire duration. So I DO need three pairs of jeans and 5 pairs of shorts, don't I?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
....Flying home from Spain. Terrifying flight, plane dropped suddenly twice as we came through the low clouds to East Midlands airport. Even my husband who is a veteran of some terrible flights (including the one where the stewardess threw herself on the floor, ready for a crash) said it was quite impressive. But we are home safe and sound.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
You were in my neck of the woods, I live about 5 miles (as the crow flies) from East Midlands (I used to work there).
Glad you're home safe and sound.

That sounds 'interesting' giraffe!
Glad you're home safely.
At least if you are driving it doesn't much matter if you take more than you need.

I guess that depends on how exciting or scary your holiday is!Bunnylump wrote:...Wondering why I am so UTTERLY useless at packing. Do I REALLY need 30 pairs of knickers to take away?

....worrying about my nephew.

He has been in phone contact with his Mum and they seem to be in good spirits, if a little exhausted. The earliest a plane can get to them is end of September or October, so there is still a long time to survive on emergency power. They have also recorded the lowest ever temperatures at the station this week (-55.4 degrees) just what they didn't need!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Feeling absolutely devastated. The daughter of an old friend of mine died today, about 40. She's left behind 3 girls, one + twins. She was also a friend of my own daughter some years ago.
Her own mum died young from a heart complaint. Ness had the same complaint and has had an artificial heart for the past 5 years but was fine. She had a transplant that went well 2 days ago and now she's gone. Her husband left her 3 years ago.
My heart goes out to grandad. Neil was my friend and neighbour. He married my very best friend and she fell down the stairs while inebriated and is now wheelchair confined and can only use her hands and arms . Poor poor people.
Makes me feel so thankful despite having had problems of my own recently. Their problems I dont even want to think about.

Oh, goodness! Giraffe I can see why you are worried. And Gill, that's very sad to hear. Kind of puts things into perspective a bit, doesn't it?

That is so sad Gill. How much can one family have to bear!
Hope your nephew is OK giraffe. I bet his Mum is anxious to get him home and see for herself that he is fine.

Would anyone care to guess as to why anyone goes out and buys really nice white pvc internal doors and then paints them scarlet red or royal blue????
