I think we can all echo those thoughts to you friend Bunny.
You would think that in this day and age with all the wars and conflicts over the years people would have learnt lessons and could live in peace and harmony with oneanother.

I'm in London. Feeling slightly jumpy every time I see someone put their hand in a bag! Not going to let them change the way I go about my business though.

We have Dibble and his girlfriend staying this weekend, of course this was incredibly alarming for her (she's French and has relatives in Paris.) Although thankfully none of them were affected.

Oh that's a relief. I was wondering where she was from.
I hope my K's old pen-friend and family are OK.

Just saw a message from my friend's daughter, apparently her other friend has had the bullet removed from his back successfully and his family are now with him. She tells of a horrific and stressful few days, filled with grief and tears for her friend. Her letter closed:
(I have removed the girl's name. The language is a little stilted because she is Danish.)

Over the last few months I got to know N as the ray of sunshine that she was. N was always happy, bubbly, positive, energetic and most of all loving. She cared for everyone with the deepest sincerity. Her smile and sweet voice could make anyone's day better. We all love and miss her indescribably much even though it still mostly feels unreal and unimaginable that she is no longer with us. At only 23 years old, she left us way to early, but her spirit will always stick around. You will always be in our hearts N.

These last few days of horror has in no doubt been a reminder to us all to cherish each other in every single way and in every moment we have together, because we truly never know what can happen and when our time together is up. With these words, tonight I listen to "like I'm gonna lose you" by Meghan Trainor..A beautiful song that will always remind me of N.

We love you N

Indeed.
It says it all doesn't it. In particular that she talks about a few days when in reality it was a little over 24 hours since the attacks. How slowly time must be passing for her!

...out for a drink with 5 blokes I used to work with in 1982!! Three of them I hadn't seen for 33 years - quite a shock! Although I will cheerfully acknowledge that they were probably fairly shocked when they first saw me!

So glad that the £50 worked, SparkOut.

It was actually really interesting listening to them speak about their careers and lives. Four of them have remained as Building Surveyors and one has had a complete divergence, and has started up a business making stained glass! I'm going to go and visit his workshop at some point (really looking forward to that!)

(Tempting thought that sounds...) I meant to add, it's a local band that plays Neil Young stuff. But then I got distracted by something and didn't actually write that.

Were they good? I used to really like Neil Young. I lost count how many times the Harvest album was played at my 18th birthday party.

It was quite a mixture, including things which I knew (mainly from that album) plus some of his more rocky stuff from when he played with Crazy Horse. Pretty good, certainly worth a trip to The Horns to have a pint and a listen.

I always love seeing this sort of stuff - things that appear in maybe only a frame or two of the actual films, but which add a tremendous sense of "reality" to the world merely by being there. My favourites included the book covers and some lovely potion bottle labels.

I've bin to see Mumford and Sons at the O2. It was very good, if a bit shambolic. Although I must say, we were ALARMINGLY high up!
