Re: Today I've mostly bin...

I had a really weird experience about a week ago and was not sure about posting....
I have always suffered from very vivid dreams, which are sometimes alarming, and often curious, as I have no idea where they might come from, not being related to regular personal experience. You'd be amazed how often I spend the night working on a film scenario - often gangster movies (which I hate!) as happened only recently. I can verify that this takes all night, since I wake up at regular intervals (say every 2 - 3 hours or so) and I am still dreaming about the same thing - just a few scenes further on. Other dreams are more related to my real life, such as organising conferences where the speaker doesn't turn up or forgetting to visit somewhere crucial until the last minute.

This one was about writing a puzzle (well, well, how about that!?) where I had to compose a clue for a crossword. I came up with the word "Grimsby" to fit the space and was pleased to spot that this had "GRIMY" round the outside with SB in the middle. The only thing I could think of was that these are my own initials, which might do as the filler. So I came up with "I find myself in dirty port". This came to me just as I woke up and I was so pleased (and amused) with it that I shared it with my husband as an inspired clue. He can vouch for that!
But imagine my shock when we sat down that very same evening to do the Guardian crossword, as we do every day and the very first clue at 1 across read: "Antimony pollutes dirty harbour".
Of course, when I looked up antimony, lo and behold its symbol is SB......

How crazy is that!!!!! I still have to say that I don't believe in any significance to dreams - what a load of rubbish, but that is a bit weird.

Funny you should say that, I've very recently started having alarmingly vivid dreams, so real that when I wake up I'm not sure if they've happened or not. I hate it! :x

I've been to my great-niece's 2nd birthday party today - she is alarmingly cute! However, it did make me smile to see that the children had been supplied with no-salt, low-sugar / no sugar, nut-free, gluten-free, alergen-free type food, and yet almost all of them were happily picking up things off the floor and putting them into their mouths, or sucking the balls out of the ball pit!

Reminds me of my best mate with her first child when she gave up sterilising bottles every day when she pointed out the daughter was putting worms in her mouth :D :D

Well Wednesday actually, not today. We went up to London and walked along the Regent's Canal from King's Cross to Paddington. It was really interesting and a very pleasant walk. And we had lunch at Camden Lock market where we were totally spoilt for choice as there were loads of food stalls of almost every cuisine you could think of.
So much so I would happily do that walk again every week - but I doubt we will.

Back in London again yesterday to meet my sisters. We went to an exhibition at the Natural History Museum called 'Other Worlds' which had some really beautiful and interesting photos of the solar system. :D
And while the rest of the museum was absolutely heaving it was relatively quiet in the exhibition with hardly anyone under 12.

I've just got back from London too. I went to the Union Chapel to see one of their lunchtime performances...which included some interesting / experimental music from the vocalist Ben See https://www.youtube.com/user/BenSeeMusic (although he had three other singers with him) followed by The Alex Mendham Orchestra https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkUkbuxdLd4. Certainly varied and interesting!

Yes, the first thing I did when I got home was to put the heating on!

Lovely to see you both. :D

I've got the central heating on AND the gas fire too! I came home a very unusual route with the help of Nagging Nora (my SATNAV.) Let's put it this way: I had to keep pulling over to avoid horse riders! But it was very pretty - I went past Milton's Cottage which I'd never seen before.

Lovely to see you both today.

Of course my satnav took me to a closed off road just after dropping you but I steadfastly ignored all requests to "turn around when possible" until it finally decided it could find another way. And I had a good run home after that.

Oh, goodness, that doesn't sound like much fun! Hope it all goes smoothly though. It'll be hard to leave her though. :)

My Son in Law has just been smashed into whilst driving his car along a main road, by a van which pulled out from a side road without looking. The van drove off, leaving him with a smashed car and a painful neck. The only good bit of news is that the van's number plate has come off and so A has that to take to the police! Just deserts?

Poor A, hope he is OK.
And yes, definitely just deserts!

Today I have mostly been cold. Hopefully more later when I have sorted photos.
