Well, OK, we're not very civilised. But that's just the way you like us!

....doing not a lot - frustratingly!
Got back to work after about 10 days away from the office to find that my computer was trying to configure windows. 20 minutes later it didn't look as though it was doing anything so someone stopped that for me. Managed to get on and start reading the emails that had come in. Just before 10.00am the internet went down. This was an error, probably over someone else's unpaid bill, but it still took them until after 3.00pm to get us connected again by which time I was packing up to come home!

Don't you just love days when you spend hours achieving almost nothing! And I still have to get payroll sorted by the end of the week, I just have one fewer day to do it in. :(

That's the problem with computers! When I used to work for the Dept of The Environment, our entire job was computer based. So when things happened (like the builders moving the "innocent looking box" without asking and thus crashing the accounting network for the entire country) we literally had NOTHING else we could do. I lost count of the days we spent chatting and doing puzzles!

Not nice when you have a deadline approaching though!

Getting ready to come back from Sockland, after a week of emptying storage unit, loading van, driving up, unloading van, driving van to drop off in Inverness 2 hours away, coming back to Fork Wigglybum, taking all the gear to the top floor of 3 storeys.
"Coming back" for the last time.
Next time I go up, (with the last vanload, and the dog) it will be for good (apart from sometimes visiting).
When I visit dahn sahf in future, "coming back" will be in the other direction.

You know I said next time back up would be for good? Well, not quite true...
Monday evening I hired the van on a one-way hire to Inverness, the nearest depot that I could get. Loaded up, set off for Sockland (sans P-Dawg) in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Unloaded mostly kinda sorted what's possible from van into Pumpkin's flat. It's totally rammed full. Mattress is on the foyer landing. Barbecue and pizza oven in parking space outside (with usual covers). Wednesday drove empty van from Fork Wigglybum to Inverness and dropped it off, got a lift to airport and flew back to Catsick. Monkey picked me up from LGW, and got back to get Mrs S' car. Loaded up a few little bits more. Had a bit of a kip, the again in early hours of Thursday morning, set off again in said car, with P-Dawg this time. Arrived yesterday afternoon. Picked up locally hired van this afternoon ready to move 2 streets up into new property.
Moving over the weekend. Start new job on Monday. Headed for Hebrides on Wednesday for work. Back Friday.

And...breathe!

Wishing you all lots of happiness in your new home! I bet Pumpkin will be relieved when all the stuff is out of her flat! Oh, and good luck with the new job!

It's not over yet! No time for breathing.
And for the immediate future, Pumpkin is moving with us too. We can't afford to keep two properties going plus her shop. Also, her flats are almost empty now, everyone has been/is being evicted as the owners are redoing them as holiday lets. So we're just in time getting sorted in a new place.

Oh goodness! It all sounds a bit manic!

Total contrast to Dibble (whose flat lease runs out on 10th Dec). I texted him to ask what was happening, had he found anywhere new to live yet...and got back "Oh, no. Haven't looked yet. I'm in Poland at the moment. It'll be fine." If he got any more laid back about things I think he'd stop altogether!

Gosh, he does sound laid back!
No doubt he will surprise you by actually sorting it out in time though!

Today I have mostly been...
very seasick

On a feed barge (floating platform with control room on top, moored in one place).

So do I, definitely needing travel sick pills for next time! It's not the travelling or the motion- it's the doing work looking at screens and devices inside without being able to see the horizon.
