(A E A) S F I A B

or perhaps more commonly

L S F I A B

(which implies the AEA above).

Well if there was, you'd probably get wet feet. (Mostly because of the holes created as a side-effect...)

Sometimes it is stated as T A L, D L, A S

Bear in mind I am an accountant, this is a favourite saying.

I'll give another clue in a day or so if needed.

Oh yeah. I should have got it from the original but I think I always thought of it with the initial TA so I didn't put it together.
(There was an entertaining Radio 4 pilot show not so long ago called D..... L... which was, of course, about S....... :))

I haven't heard of that. I do like Tim Harford's More or Less which, I think, is always interesting.

Aha. I maybe would have got there before the heat death of the universe, but certainly taken longer than the expansion of the sun to obliterate the inner planets.
It took both the accountants' saying hint and mention of the Radio 4 pilot for me to get it before then.

I gave a hint as soon as there was any sign anyone was looking at it and needed a nudge. Not my fault if no-one seemed to be trying to solve it.
