Mind you, we are talking about the badger-chasing cat here...

.....wondering if I should go back to the runes and try to finish them off. Does anyone here still visit their site?

I got to about page 20 of the Runes and a couple of moths ago thought that I'd try and finish them off but I took a look at the puzzles and couldn't remember how to do half of them (minus the chess puzzles - I couldn't do any of them from the start anyway, and had to guess that letter), so I put them away again. But I would like to finish them off one day.

Oh I always had to guess the chess ones too.

I used to work out all the possible moves and then "discuss" with Scurra why most of them were a bad idea. No way I could have done them alone.

It's well worth finishing, but the last few pages are quite tricky, and then there is the rest of it.....

I think I got to page 3.  (But to be honest, once I'd spotted chess then that was the end of it for me!) Everyone raves about it so it must be good. But I just can't face getting back to it after all this time. I think it's destined for the shredder, when I can be bothered to sort through that particular heap of paper...

I completed all the pages, and quite a few of the stages after that. But stopped short of finishing it for various reasons.

The above posts prompted me to go and have a look at the forum for the first time since the end of December, only to find someone had pmed me for help in January. OOps!

...having a lovely day in London. Sitting in glorious sunshine in Russell Square, looking at some of the wonderful buildings then a visit to the British Museum and some lunch. :D

(Thank you).

I hope nobody had pm'd me for runes help as I haven't been on there for about a year I think I have forgotten my pass word and funny enough only threw out all my working paperwork last weekend. I have probably forgotten how to do half the puzzles by now.

You're making me jealous Bunny I used to spend most of my weekends when I was young around that area as my cousin used to live there and I would travel up on the train by myself (from Devon) every other weekend, now I panic going to Exeter

... stuck in traffic!
left grandparents at 1.30, arrived home (250 miles) at 7pm. Don't think we went above 40 on the whole of the M6. Poor Thomas didn't like it at all. Felt like he cried most of the way, but I know it was only for about 30 mins total.

Mind you, we had a wonderful time down there and left two besotted grandparents behind us.

Looking forward to catching up with what the rest of you have been up to

Oh poor you! I remember a long journey with Fernando when he was a baby when he screamed all the way. VERY wearing. :(

I was surprised how little traffic we encountered on Monday, considering it was a bank holiday. Best trip back we've ever had. :o

Shredding my hands. I finally made myself do some gardening. Beautiful day again though!

yep, a beautiful day. We really must do something with our garden - it's too dangerous for Thomas at the moment - still full of residue from our still-not-finished extension. I must admit to being tempted to get started on it today, but my natural laziness won out and spent the day playing with Thomas instead! (not that that's any less tiring come to think of it!)

It is VERY tiring looking after babies of that age, isn't it? (lovely though). You need eyes in the back of your head and LIGHTNING reactions!!

..changing my avatar image to the Lady Wulfruna herself, as her statue presides over my home town (oops - now a proud city!) of Wolverhampton. She founded it in 985 AD, being granted a royal charter for the land by King Aethelred (Unready though he may have been....), recorded in the Saxon chronicle as Wulfrun's Haenton (=high place). I thought it was about time that I paid due tribute to this noble lady from the medieval era - when the central Kingdom of Mercia was the dominant power in England :P

Oh, that's cool, Wulfruna. I didn't know where you'd got the name from. :D Like the new avatar. Who was the old one a picture of?

That was my Puzzle Pirates character. Have you come across the "YPP Puzzle Pirates" ? It's still one of the best on-line games for fun and friendship featuring some lovely simple games to play along the way. http://www.puzzlepirates.com/

And of course..... now you have learnt that people from Wolverhampton are officially "Wulfrunians" - nothing to do with Wolves!! (although in the glory days when I was young that was a name to be conjured with in football circles......) :P :P
